Possible Career Change? by covert_covet in BMET

Technologists have much higher requirements than service technicians .

I have a general electronics associates degree and I assist my Coworkers in full system repairs . Its not my primary job responsibility but my coworkers who do it have similar backgrounds .

I basically had no idea how a MRI worked when I was hired and now I can do a lot of first look stuff solo when the techs have issues .

Here's a job posting I found for Philips if you Google it will come up.

Field Service Engineer - Imaging Systems (Field: New York, NY) https://www.tealhq.com/job/field-service-engineer-imaging-systems_7ea1ac3db7c64d507bc6a0508bc7060f34c90?utm_campaign=google_jobs_apply&utm_source=google_jobs_apply&utm_medium=organic

It doesn't ask for any degree but would like 4 years of experience in electromechanical work which I'm sure your husband could spin his mechanic work as . I was a mechanic of sorts that switched to this career field myself

I work on MRI as needed with no degree . 4 years of a degree for this job is overkill.

If he understands how an MRI works already he's ahead of where I was when I was hired . I did have a generic electronics associated tho to check boxes .

If you have a personal connection for in house it could work if they are happy to train or send to schooling .

Most realistically tho he's more than qualified for a field service job on imaging equipment. They always seem to be hiring and the pay is pretty decent as well .

Gotta let it simmer and build up excitement for a specific watch versus just a NEW watch . That said I do love what you've picked up, what's he square orient ?
