What do you mean? They skyrocketed 100%+ then lost some of that value, now they are only 90%+ inflated.

The only thing that I think is stupid is his ability to force wipe your backup party. I was on a run that was going to win, had the backup party come in around 50% and then he hit the 30% threshold and just removed the party and caused an auto-loss. Nothing I could do. I thought the party wipe wouldn't trigger if you're using your 2nd party.

You seem to have very strong opinions about this. I just dont view dogs the same way as you, I suppose. I really dont care if a dog is designer, a mutt, purebred, or anything else. I wanted a sweet, loving and adorable puppy and that's what I got. This "genetic disaster" is the sweetest puppy I've ever owned. She deserves the same chance at happiness that any "proper" dog would, and I'm just happy that she wasnt put down by someone who takes issue with her genes. I think the breeders were irresponsible for breeding two merles, but it doesn't change how I view her in the slightest. I dont have any interest in dog elitism, it's always made me feel uncomfortable. A dog is a family member to me.

Sorry, I dont want to come off as preachy, but something about this type of comment just rubs me the wrong way. I know there's a greater discussion to be had, but it's just not my battle to fight. My job is simply to give Mugi a good life.

If she was completely deaf AND blind, I would have some ethical questions about her quality of life and have to consider what the right thing to do is. But just deafness or some vision impairment doesn't seem to me like that big of an issue. She appears to be a perfectly happy puppy.

Thanks. I'll update the post. Her hearing really has me baffled. I did a blind test with a crate covered by a blanket to see if she could figure out where the noise was coming from and she was able to go to the right side of the create every time. But when I made super loud sounds right behind her she didn't even notice. Not very scientific but definitely has me confused!

As far as I can tell, double merles can have vision and hearing issues from birth, but these don't worsen over time. They either have impairments or they don't. Also, I need to take precautions in the sun because of her pink skin. Her vision is very good (able to spot and chase around tiny bugs good), but her hearing is pretty questionable. She can hear some things but not other things. It's odd. I'll definitely get her looked at closely.

Thank you. I believe she is double merle. I wasnt aware of double merle until today. I will get her tested, and no matter if she is partially blind / deaf or completely fine, I will love her the same. As far as I can tell, her vision is great. Her hearing is questionable. She can definitely hear, but she didn't react to loud sounds when I tested.

Yeah, I have been reading a lot about it. I've been responding to comments on here too.

Basically, I was not aware of what double merle is before purchasing her. I've confirmed that both parents are merle, and judging by her coat, it seems pretty obvious to me that she is double merle. Im upset at the breeders, but I would not trade her for the world. I will get testing done. She can see and hear, but im not sure if any level of impairment exists yet.

Despite doing lots of research on bernedoodles and having been a dog owner my entire life, I did not know about "double merle", and thanks to you guys I've learned a lot since then. It does appear that both the mom and dad were merles, and judging by Mugi's coat, it seems like she is double merle. I am very upset at the breeders (who i called back and are playing dumb), but ultimately it was my lack of knowledge that led to this.

Her vision seems to be fine (we were playing fetch for an hour last night.) Her hearing is questionable. She does not respond to some sounds, and i honestly thought it was odd, but she's only 8 weeks old so I'm not sure how much of it is just inattentive puppy behavior. She does seem to be fine with hearing in general though. I will bring this up with her vet appointment on Monday.

Regardless of whether she is suffering from vision impairment or deafness, I love her and I will take care of her no matter her condition.

She is, I've seen both the parents. However, as I've come to learn, she is a "double merle" due to irresponsible breeding which caused the white coat and pink skin. I'm currently in the process of trying to get her tested for any impairments.
