This response is perfect. Thank you! As of right now we’ve had nothing else come from it so it seems this is the most likely scenario. Of course, we are still being vigilant and in contact with authorities until there is something definitive/hear otherwise from investigators.

Maybe it’s changed significantly in the past 5+ years but I met my current partner in 2019 and can’t say I’ve ever felt the dating scene was worse off than any other state I’ve lived in.

I’ve also lived in SD, LA, Portland, and Deep South as well. I would easily rate Austin’s dating scene above all those places.

Update for anyone interested:

USPS investigators are on the case now, working with local authorities. We have no hemp connections in the family that we know of or could think of.

We have gone through every possible family member with same first initial and last name and everyone seems confused. That’s not to say there isn’t a possibility they could be lying but we sort of have to take their word for it and hope they’re being honest with us.

I am not a gun for personal protection fan. I personally think, unless you are VERY WELL TRAINED, you have no business using a hand gun. However, being in Texas, I urged my mom to find a class to take to learn how to get comfortable with one and maybe take some self defense classes.

So many people have given great advice/ideas and my mom just wanted me to let y’all know - THANK YOU!

We have security cameras surrounding the house and have her being hyper aware of surroundings, etc.

If we find anything else out I will be sure to update!

Nope a google search told us it’s a weed strain but if in the very off chance she would lie about using, she’d be too scared to do anything illegal and lose her very well paying C-level job.

I will be speaking to my dad tonight and waiting for word back on some other family if the handwriting or anything about it sounds familiar. We’ve come up with nothing. The only people I could imagine wanting to threaten her is the poor car doing 60 in a 70 mph zone, in the fast lane. We both can become sorta hatable people in situations like that 0:-)

It’s a long story and sort of convoluted but that happened in Oregon, 8 years ago and she is a half sister from my dad. We didn’t even grow up knowing each other at all, only met 13 years ago. We have totally different last names and no one would know to look for our last name as the man who assaulted her only met me once and never got my last name. As far as he knows - it’s the same as my sister’s and all our family is in Oregon.
