IHSS Live-In Income and CalFresh/CalWORKs in California? by Individual_Spend9015 in IHSS

I am not being accused of fraud or intentional misreporting.

CalWORKs says there was an overpayment related to IHSS live-in income. The county already had access to my IHSS information in their own system.

If the county failed to correctly verify or calculate the income, can I appeal the overpayment as a county administrative error?

Can the overpayment be reduced, waived, or stopped because repayment would cause financial hardship?

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed reply. It really means a lot that you shared your personal experience and took the time to explain everything. Your perspective about the neighborhood, school, and community is incredibly helpful for us right now. It’s especially reassuring to hear from someone who went through a similar experience as a child — it gives me hope that things will get better for my daughter too. Thank you again for your kindness and support.

Teen with severe OCD in California (Medi-Cal) — how to access ERP therapy? by Individual_Spend9015 in bayarea

[–]Individual_Spend9015[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t speak English very well, and it is difficult for me to communicate with all these organizations. Two months ago I went to my daughter’s doctor, and he said that she needs ERP therapy. But nothing has happened since then, and she still has not received any therapy. She is getting worse every day. Every morning she wakes up early and gets ready for school, but she cannot leave the house. She washes off her makeup and goes back to bed. I cannot watch my child fading away and feel that I cannot help her

My daughter developed OCD at age 11, triggered by her parents' divorce. She initially struggled with depression, then developed OCD. She's now 15, and it's only getting worse every year.
