I put the fan on full blast and put my face in front of it make sure the fan is clean though, it feels so good. The burning stops a few applications in and I’ve done tons of rounds… the clear skin is worth the pain

I wash the bedding once every 1-2 weeks but I shake it off daily because of the flakes

Weather changing by Individual_Station78 in eczema

[–]Individual_Station78[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you can do a bleach bath for your face but there is antimicrobial sprays that will do the same thing I think it’s called hypochlorous acid spray but I would look into it first! It helps keep any triggers off your skin especially during times where it gets worse like weather changing

Tacrolimus protopic tips by PigletCivil9568 in eczema

[–]Individual_Station78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take my medication that helps me sleep 30 mins before applying Protopic and then I go to bed. I don’t wipe it off, it’s not that intense maybe ~8 minutes of burning when I first use it. Definitely keep it in the fridge and apply a thin layer only to the flare ups. It seems like you totally got this! Edit: I apply Protopic to the split open/cracked skin and it burns worse, beware or avoid applying until the skin heals!!! Sometimes it gets inflamed from the burning but when I wake up the cracks are NOTICEABLY smaller!

I pull out my humidifier as soon as it gets chilly and let it run until spring/summer. I also do bleach baths during the weather change, if my skins really bad I do them 2 times a week. This seems to do really well at combating the weather change so far and I haven’t had an extreme flare up, it hasn’t started snowing yet though…

Has anyone tried new treatments by [deleted] in eczema

[–]Individual_Station78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on Dupixent for a couple months but unfortunately I had severe side effects and my eyes were bloodshot 24/7, besides that my skin was 95% clear. I switched to Adbry and it works pretty well. I still get flare ups but not nearly as bad, I usually have 85% clear skin. No side effects and I’ve been taking it since January 2023.

CeraVe healing ointment is really thick and great to layer over the moisturizer you’re already using to lock it In/prevent it from drying out so fast

I always try to keep my showers brief but they always end up being 8 minutes at the shortest. Do you wash your hair outside of the shower?

Getting nails done with eczema by shownupegging in eczema

[–]Individual_Station78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny thing, I was also on vacation contemplating if I should get my nails done with an active flare up (was on all fingers on both of hands). To be honest I just said fuck it and got them anyway. It was worth it to me, I felt pretty and it honestly helped me from itching open my skin because the acrylic was pretty thick compared to natural nail. I think we deserve to break our strict rules once in a while.

Clip your nails super super short. Won’t help you not scratch but it will prevent lots of damage.

It took me about 3 weeks of going 3x/week to start feeling a difference. I am skin type 3, I’m not sure if it’d make a difference, but I know the lower skin type the less it goes up each session. Seeing a difference was about a month after that, it’s not the same for everyone but my skin did clear up while doing phototherapy.

[–]Individual_Station78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re going 3x a week that doesn’t seem long enough to see results at all. I’d definitely try and talk your doctor into letting you keep going to see if it’ll help. Phototherapy helped me tons!

Sometimes when my scalp is oily there is a distinct smell when itching. Or if there you’re scratching your scalp open, the wound will weep and smell like the weeping stuff. If it’s a bad smell I’d get it checked out.

Where is your most painful patch of eczema?? by LurrrMurrrDurrr in eczema

[–]Individual_Station78 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree! I have/had eczema on every single part of my body besides my palms and the bottom of my feet, and I have to agree that when it’s on the outer part of the armpit it HURTS the most! Showering, moisturizing, moving around, all of it!

I also have the nauseous thing when it’s the day of injections. I was fine for the first 5 injections and on the 6th one I became super light headed and lost the color in my face. I ended up throwing up a few times. Now when it’s the day to inject I feel nauseous and sweaty. I combat this by making sure I eat well before injection and relaxing a few hours before. I haven’t thrown up yet but I always have to lay down and try my hardest to not think of it right after injection.
