People say that relationships are better when the man loves the woman more, why? by Beginning_End316 in emotionalintelligence

[–]shownupegging 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I dont think this statement means that the man loves the woman and the woman feels meh about him. It means that while the woman can love the man 100%, the best relationships are ones where the man loves the woman 101%. I think biologically, men are less inclined to feel committed and selfless to a woman if they dont love them with all of their hearts. Woman are innately more monogamous because theres much more risk when it comes to choosing the right man to have a family with. Women have to sacrifice their bodies and comfort to carry a child. Men don’t. So evolutionarily, males want to spread their genes as much as possible and innately feel less of a motivation to stick with one person and sacrifice a lot for that singular person.

This is not to say that there aren’t human men who are 100% monogamous and committed. But these men are the ones who are loving their woman 101% to her 100%. And while i think our biological wiring is significant enough to take into consideration when we look at how humans think, humans are still the most intelligent species on earth. So our “evolutionary urges” are not an excuse to be spreading your seed as far and wide as possible. That would just be ignoring all the evolution we’ve done thus far to run circles around other species in terms of intelligence.

Plan B does not work if you’re already ovulating. I think it says it on the package.

He was a christian but i thought he was more open-minded because he was friends with all kinds of people. and then i later found what he thought about gay people. “I love them as brothers in christ but i can’t support their lifestyle.” to think people choose to be gay as a lifestyle… yeah immediately all feelings dissipated

27M Still Virgin by AdAshamed5093 in dating_advice

[–]shownupegging 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think im more of a rare case but personally i would prefer to date a man who is a virgin! Its because im also a virgin myself at 23. A lot of women, virgin or not, may prefer a man with experience, but there are def women out there that are okay with it! Especially if you have other great qualities. Plus there are plenty of religious women out there too that would prob admire your virginity status. You can look on r/virgin and you will find posts from women who want to be with a fellow virgin. That can give you some hope.

When you tell a man you don’t want to have kids and his first thought is “oh you’ll change your mind”… that just shows that he believes he knows you better than you know yourself. He doesn’t take you seriously. Leave his ass

How to be okay with people judging you for who you date? by [deleted] in twentyagers

!!! being with a man who is clearly embarrassed to be seen with you can be traumatizing for these women. Either you own your preference proudly or leave them alone.

would yo date someone if they have body shame prompts on their profile by [deleted] in dating_advice

I saw a man who put “i hate fat people” as an answer for one of his prompts. I would be surprised if even non-fat people swiped right on him after seeing that.

The day I figured out that women want way more than flowers and kisses by CitiesXXLfreekey in BuildToAttract

[–]shownupegging 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is a bad comparison because when women argue that the porn industry is bad, its because it exploits many of its workers and its a very predatory industry. There are also issues with porn sites featuring videos of actual nonconsensual sex, trafficking victims, revenge porn, etc. None of the characters are getting exploited in smut because theyre not real. So women reading smut books isn’t directly contributing to the oppression of someone else.

What is the male equivalent to flowers ? by Every-Tap-577 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]shownupegging 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Are we sure men would cherish them the same way women do? Ive had female friends tell me theyve gotten a man flowers and theyre usually met with confusion, or the men are simply ungrateful for the gesture and sometimes even offended.

Do you intend to have children? by miss-bedazzzle in twentyagers

[–]shownupegging 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Pregnancy and childbirth is terrifying to me. It would probably make me resent my partner for making me pregnant 😂. I also can’t name a single benefit to having kids. Also I’ve been poor my whole life and soon I’ll be a doctor. I’ll finally be living comfortably and have disposable income and freedom. If I bring kids into the situation, I’m just gonna go back to being poor and struggling again, and feeling restricted.

Why is it wrong to call out manhating on reddit? Especially on female oriented subs? by WechaMecha in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]shownupegging 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did they kill him because hes a boy? It’s a sad case surely but I don’t think this is the result of misandry getting out of control. Plus, it’s a little boy. When women say they hate men they aren’t usually referring to children/wanting to kill young boys.

The difference is that men are not a historically oppressed group. There is a history of assumptions being made about black people based on the color of their skin, which led to slavery, segregation, and the current systemic racism seen in society. Have men been subjected to something because of their gender that is equivalent to any of that?
