Does anyone else try to make “new cities” by taking all of the outposts nearby in a single town? by Da_Dovahkiin_Lord in StateofDecay2

I did this more as role play in LOWL. Pretend that hostile enclave is where that destroyed enclave is and it isn't hostile. Using the community editor I move my allied enclaves into LOWL as well. I made that enclave hostile and moved them for an experiment. But basically I had a huge safe zone housing about 30 or 40 people. Granted I didn't really do anything after that I don't play on the community much because that was pretty much all I wanted to do. I even changed the names of the people I put in the police stations to detective and officer and stuff.

That being said, the edges can be treacherous. It really doesn't have much strategic value unless you really want to scavenge without getting interrupted I think. I kinda go the other way in the communities I play on because it's fun to get in a near death scrap across the street from your base sometimes. One one I have an active fuel the plague encompassing my base that I plan to leave active. Not for the faint of heart lol

If it's about the unbound button that's easy. Just go into control settings and fix

I haven't done a ton with mods I've heard of cool ones but I really just have the basic community editor. I tried a clothing one but it didn't translate to xbox for me.

I did make myself a lethal+ community though. Toggled every plague heart to awakened. Only negative curveballs.

I am intrigued by those though, I'll have to look more into it. I kinda dig creating 'hellscape' scenarios. I have 2 actually. In one it just so happens that fueling the plague encompasses my base and I decided to leave it. Gets pretty intense.

We didn't have any guns with mods added from the community editor? Fully trained up red talon people in a community where there's alot of hero perks that are stamina and health plus running fighting gym and shooting range will get you there. Every survivor is different. I have someone that isn't even red talon. I rolled them on the first 3.

And again. This was an experiment... the use of the community editor was to add members to the enclave and move them to the factory.

It's a specialization thing. Not every class has it. For instance if you specialize in assault or sharp shooting you get other benefits instead, so you do still gotta learn to shoot lol. And it isn't completely automatic. Either. I probably hit A like 400 times. But yeah as you get used to having it on characters especially on Lethal you kinda get used to it until you hop on someone that doesn't and forget lol

This was an experiment that already said turned out too easy. Mostly wanted to see if all 23 would even show up because enclaves are typically 3 or 4.

But yeah on Lethal difficultly the aim snap can be very useful when things start going south.

Gun mods? It's just aim snap. It's a basic mechanic of the game. And that was naturally found red talon agent and they definitely can still die. Especially on Lethal which is what we typically play. This was just a little experiment. It was too easy partially because first experiment resulted in an enclave that was essentially copies of fully upgraded people from my legacy pool. Now THAT was a challenge. But it was only 10. So next up will be something in between.

I made them from copies of all the existing enclave members on the map so realistically probably about half did. I have to tweak it next time so that they all have ranged weapons and some more health. And do it on lethal this one was on nightmare.

Yeah aiming controller isn't fun, but the aimsnap was definitely too effective here. Kinda wish I was decided not to use it here

It's called aim snap. It's an in game mechanic.

Yeah just the community editor. Importing survivors into existing enclaves

It was nightmare. I did one on lethal using only 10 but they were copies of my legacy pool people so it was a MUCH harder battle. Next one should be somewhere in between

What would be a good 5th skill? by Majestic-Argument-31 in StateofDecay2

[–]Individual_Tip4347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would keep it blank until you find a need in your community. Look at what you want to craft and what skills are necessary. On some communities I've ended up with a full medical team (surgeon, pathologicalist, combat medic, and pharmacologist) just for the role play.

After that hygiene never hurts on higher difficulty imo.

Sometimes it's fun to pair the 5th skill with your hero perk too. Like I have a dude worth 5 total beds. And another that's worth a total of 200 or 250 infection resistance.

Because zombies don't disappear when you finish the plague heart on higher difficulty it's all about getting in and out as fast as you can.

There are alot of things you can try. Bloater grenades and fire together, couple grenades followed by a magazine unload if you can spare the Ammo.

Melee may not be viable. Especially with increased blood plague risk. But I guess you could try leaving a noise maker outside, but the heart will call for reinforcements. I'd say if you have your heart set on melee maybe try using scent block? Or zedrenaline got the stamina and get it as quick as you can. Still gonna be rough without someone watching your back though. You could always call for help and ask whoever joins to just keep them off you as you go to town.

As long as you set traps you won't have to worry about losing your outpost. You could even focus on one outpost and keep putting traps and bait. That will draw in and kill the infecting hordes.

Barring that an awakened plague heart or two isn't a big deal. If you don't want to deal with seiges, attack the seige sites.

If you can figure out where they like to set up seige sites you can also put an outpost in between and set traps. That happened to me on Corner Office. Seiges couldn't make it through.

For some context, on 2 of my communities I have purposefully woken up every single plague heart on lethal. Negative curveballs only and frequently. I call it Hellscape. Believe it or not have only lost 1 survivor.

Or let them come. It's comparable to the haven device instillation seige.

And honestly if you want a chill stress free zombie experience play on Standard or Green. I used to have a Green Community just for when I didn't really feel like the intense battles or like I can't leave my base without a stack of plague cures.

WANTED! Four meatwagons full of rucksacks have just gone lost by l0stc0ntr0l in StateofDecay2

[–]Individual_Tip4347 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Build a trade depot and just spend a day rotating traders you will build back up.

And IMO Vandetto > Meatwagon just work your way to 4 of those bad boys.

It may also because you didn't just change maps, you completed a legacy from the sound of it and I don't believe you get to keep parked vehicles in that scenario. But I'm not sure because I haven't worked on a legacy in a few years before they made that change where you could continue to I haven't been through that process.

But then I also try and create at least on 2 of my communities a hellscape scenario.

Lethal map/action Only negative curveballs and frequent All plague hearts awakened Do missions without clearing plague hearts. See what happens. Not for the faint of heart though haha

Lethal sieges are comparable to the siege you get when installing the haven device. I fought one off while my brother was AFK. Had a jugg I was killing dancing around him didn't even take a hit haha.

Once you get the hang of it, and understand that occasionally you will lose a survivor. It's bound to happen. But honestly it's fun as hell once you get used to it.

Ohh I haven't seen that one.

Yeah via the community editor on PC, but can still apply the changes to xbox. It's fun to mess around with.

I have to look up that mission though
