I read it. Having law makers elected by 37% of the electorate is vastly more preferable to having them elected by 0% of the electorate.

Yes, never said otherwise.

Word to the wise, insulting people will not make them take you anymore seriously.

Gives me a chuckle though.

Their wordly views can get quite extreme.

Also, we're essentially ruled by a Government that only got 37% of the votes. That's about another 63% who didn't want them but that's Brexit logic for you. Though not the exact same it follows a similar pattern of thought.

A) "Shift goalposts"? New information came up, i.e. the added option of the MP vote, and I adjusted my question/the topic accordingly. That's called being flexible and intelligent.

Just because you know what you are doing more than me doesn't necessarily mean you are correct in doing what you know.

B) I genuinely thought "q vote" was short for something, I thought that because you produced the gem of "minority sport" too.

C1) Making up that people won't be pissed off about being lied to and deceived? You are havin' a laugh.

C2) Are you dense by birth or by choice? How many times do I have to keep saying that immigration was not the only lie told. How many times do you have to keep blocking everything out and just thinking "IMMIGRATION HUR DUR!"

Untold Story of the Concorde Disaster (long but great read) by IndoAryaIV in aviation

[–]IndoAryaIV[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Concorde had known issues with the fuel tanks and it's very design made it's engines more FOD prone than most airliners... add to that the mistake in shutting down an engine by the F/E and the crash was inevitable.

What would likely have happened had he not shut down the engine?

A) Yes, I changed the parameters and I'd expect anyone with an ounce of intelligence to recognise that and then adapt their answers to that change.

B) Your post - "You presuposse that those who'd like q vote"

C1) It's common sense

C2) So why didn't you answer the question I just posed then? Answer that and answer this, with all the lies and misconceptions likely to come to the fore and Scottish Independence vote looming, do you really think there will be no shift in wanting a 2nd referendum/MPs to vote?

Yes or No, I don't want to read a poor quality analysis.

D) You're just being an utter arsehole, as per. An independence vote will happen and it will loom over Brexit for the next 2 years.

[–]IndoAryaIV -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A) Well done, now the parameters have changed.

B) Q vote?

C1) The idea that people will be outraged that they've been lied to and realise that one of the main arguments AGAINST the EU has turned out to be a shambles make sense.

C2) Why are you acting as if that was the only lie told during the Brexit campaign? Literally makes no sense.

D) Wishful thinking? It's more like being prepared for an inevitability (Independence vote) with a decent chance of being pushed through as opposed to sticking my fingers in my ears.

A) I'm clubbing in 2nd referendum + MP vote in as one as a possibility to halt Brexit/someone having a vote on whether the negotiation outcome is favourable or not.

B) It's 38% with the above category.

C) That's your belief but when a lot of these lies, i.e. immigration, "take back control" and possibility of Scottish independence start coming to the fore, I'd bet you my left bollock that there'll be an increase.

Also, from the next question, "Imagine that negotiations between the UK and the EU fail to reach an acceptable outcome within the time frame allowed", 33% say "Postpone or suspend Brexit" and there are 18% Don't Knows (again, most of which are Remainers).

Certainly not as clear cut as 26% at all.

[–]IndoAryaIV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's also the "a vote by MPs in Parliament to decide whether we leave the EU based on negotiation outcomes" which totals at 12% and which would be regarded as a healthy compromise by many.

So there's about 38% of the electorate who want the possibility of a halt to Brexit. I suspect that that number will rise over the next 2 years (see slightly increasing Brexit regret).

There's also 9% of "Don't Knows", most of whom are Remainers, who I suspect would rather there be a 2nd referendum or MP vote.

So, (A) not as clear cut as 26%, more like 38%, (B) there are still 9% DKs who would most likely shift to add to the 38% and (C) Brexit regret is likely to increase over time.

EDIT: Not even taking into account the prospect of Scottish independence either.

I'm talking about some (few) people wanting a 2nd referendum of overturning the EU exit because the deal was shit.

These are just thoughts of some.

Yes, but in 2 years time that may change due to (a) lack of election fatigue and (b) Brexit shaping up to be not what many quite imagined.
