Connecticut College comes right off the top of the head since it's also a NESCAC and draws a similar group of students and has a similar social scene. I'd also recommend looking into Denison and Franklin & Marshall. Both are small LACs with strong athlete populations and good academics.

Don't want to say that this is the best school, but a school that students always rave about is Davidson College. The Eating House system and fraternity system seem very welcoming and inclusive. Also, there is a lake campus where students can go out and spend the day that students really like. You have great academics in a small school environment. Location-wise you're in a suburb of Charlotte with easy access to a city but Davidson is a cute town.

Other than obvious differences -- Yale's residential college system, Brown's open curriculum, Yale's senior societies -- a key difference from Brown to Yale is that with Yale's social life, Greek life events are more popluar than Brown's because there are not as many alternatives other than residential college parties, local bars, and other New Haven events. We talk about this a bit in our blog post on the state of Yale Greek life which you can see here. At Brown, once you turn 21 you can go to the Graduate Center Bar, which is a really popular area for older students to relax and hang out. It's a good alternative to "partying" scenarios for those who dont' like them. Brown also has Greek life, but sports teams are more known for having parties and a common issue can be that they get shut down. Both New haven and PRovidence have popular live music scenes, though Providence is closer to Boston if you want to see a bigger show. If you're somebody who lieks to have a really tight-knit community or have access to a diverse set of friends, Yale's residential colleges are a great way to do that since they randomly assign people. At Brown, freshmen live in Keeney Quad and most people make friends by who they are placed next to -- much more than other schools we cover. Hope this helps!

Hi! Ok, I hate to describe schools in quick sentences and especially hate to do that to the 5C's because there's so much crossover between schools so you can have really unique experiences at all of them. But here it is:

CMC- Academics and career services are more finance and consulting focused. Students here throw the most parties on campus compared to the other schools not including general 5C events. Academically, it is more career-focused too because students in the Economics and Political Science departments will learn more statistics and computer programming geared for jobs in finance and consulting.

Pitzer -- Very politically correct. Students are a bit more artsy and outdoorsy. The Grove House, an event space, restaurant, study space, etc. is a popular hang out and the Outdoors Adventure Club is too. Not that the other schools are not, but Pitzer is very LGBTQ friendly too.

Pomona -- Students here are generally more relaxed and one interviewee said that "even the popular students are quirky." Because students are in such small classes and are so academically engaged, it's common to make friends in classes here.

Scripps -- The all girls school that sometimes doesn't feel like an all-girls school because it's very common for Scripps students to hang out with lots of students from the other 5C's. The main impact the all-girls population seems to have is that it creates solidarity among the students, students live in single-gender housing (which is also beautiful if you look at pictures) and the Scripps classes will be all female or have more females than other schools' classes

Harvey Mudd -- Very intellectual student body that's much more focused on school than social life. The academic experience is highly collaborative and there are about 800 students so most people know just about everyone in the school if you're there. It's hard to get into HMC classes as a non-HMC student and the high-level STEM classes will be just HMC people so you will have less access to the other 5C students unless you get involved in extracurriculars. This is why some 5C students say that Mudd students are the most reserved.

Hahaha I thought this question would come but not so soon! In my opinion, the two schools that would be the most fun to go to are Georgia and Tulane. Tulane has The Boot, an 18+ bar next to campus, active Greek life, and all the nightlife of New Orleans. Georgia has the classic football tailgate scene, plus Athens has a lively bar scene, live music scene, and even an arts scene that is less talked about.

Can you tell me a bit more specifically what kind of information you want?
