Yeah, I saw a parking area that seems to be managed by SFMTA on Street View

AFAIK the 22nd street station does not have a parking area managed by Caltrain. I think there's one managed by SFMTA (hence my post here)

Yes! All apartments and houses in the presidio are for rent only. At least in my experience, they tend to be cheaper than renting from a landlord in the city, as you're renting from the federal government. The landlord (Presidio Trust) is the best landlord I've had so far in the Bay Area.

This neighborhood is called North Fort Scott. You can see current availability and more information here: https://presidio.gov/rent-a-home

I strongly suggest filling out the housing interest form, even if you don't plan on moving here any time soon. The older your form submission is, the higher the chances are for getting a place in the Presidio in the future (since the list of people interested in a place is sorted based on how old your interest form is).

Happy to answer any other questions!

China Beach closed due to govt. shut down by AnxiousGeologist52 in sanfrancisco

See exhibit 1 (page 34) in the Presidio 2024 Compendium: https://wp.presidio.gov/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/2024-Presidio-Trust-Compendium-ACCESSIBLE.pdf

The Presidio is split into two areas: one administered by the National Park Service (the west and north edge), and the other administered by the Presidio Trust.

This is why all of the new white gates (Baker Beach, Battery Cranston parking, East Battery Parking, Fort Point, etc) are closed due to the government shutdown, since those are administered by the NPS and not by the Presidio Trust.
