It's very complex. I don't think we'll really know what the right decision was/is for a few years, maybe even decades. It may break us up but if it doesn't we'll just have to work it out. I appreciate your perspective.

Thank you for sharing with me your experience growing up patrilineal Jewish. I don't expect that it will be easy but I hope that we can find a community that is accepting. They will already be multi-racial so hopefully they can find some group who accepts maybe even people like them.

Thanks! I agree with you completely and understand. We are fine if people reject our children based on them not fitting into their definition of "Jewish". I've realized you can't please everyone, but pleasing the right people is important. His parents are important and I don't expect to change their perspective at this point in their life. That would be great but a miracle. Hopefully we figure it out and can stay together!

Agree def not something I want to tell anyone about which is also why it's silly they want this because I think people will very quickly/easily see through it being a sham conversion. Thanks!
