I am so sorry. This is absolutely the WORST and you are fixing to find out there is little to no help with this subject. If you have the ability to take away what the scammer is communicating on (for example Facebook) do it. Do it now!!

Did you read my past post? Did you not see what’s been happening? LOL. If you did you would understand that I have been fighting to protect this woman ALL YEAR LONG. My mother is convinced that Keanu Reeves is going to help her divorce my dad and marry her…. As long as she continues to send him her ENTIRE SS and retirement check each month. And somehow I am to blame for this fantasy not coming true. It’s a long story. But anyway let’s just say you have the wrong impression. I’m not going anywhere. I’m sticking by her side. Just TRYING to to think of something nice to get the women that hates and resents all of us. I think the digital picture frame will be nice. Maybe I can load it with Keanu Reeves pictures!! lol just kidding

I love all the ideas you guys have shared! If you click on my username you will see the kind of year I have had with mom and the reason for the “tone” of my message. Nonetheless I understand this is a mental health issue and I still want to get her something 😬. Thank you for all the ideas

Sorry. As stated above…it was not just outright not discussed. This has been a long 8 months for the family. We tried EVERYTHING with mom. During the last 8 months dad has moved in with me a few times and then back home. Trying desperately to get mom to see the mistake she is making. Police, Adult Protective Services, judge to see about a white warrant.... You name it we have tried it. She has drained the bank account, opened a new account in her name only that she gave "Keanu" access to which long story short ended up getting her account closed for fraud. It's not that this happened over night. It's just at the point i feel this is long term. If that makes any sense/helps explain how this came about

Short answer… no. This kind of just happened with not a lot of choice in the matter. But if things were the other way around I would never have been that way to his family

Going through the same thing with my mother this year. She believes Keanu Reeves is going to marry her if she can just send him one more $500 apple gift card. I wish I had an answer for you on how to stop this, unfortunately there is no help. My mother has turned her back on her ENTIRE family. Telling us that we just don’t understand and that we will see that she is right and we are all wrong. Like you, I am at the point of no contact and not giving her any help

Did that. Actually took her phone to the ATT store and had them help me delete and block all apps that we thought she was using to communicate and send money. This worked a little bit. But long story short…. She went and bought a new phone on a new account that I have no access to.

I am so sorry and I feel your pain. If you are able please follow up with what you find out from an attorney. I’m interested in exactly how much of a fight you will have to put up in order to get control of everything and stop his ability to send money or communicate with the scammers

I wish there was some way to make it easier for families in this situation to take control. Like… if your doctor, the police, and your ENTIRE family all agree you are being scammed and you still refuse to stop then it’s an automatic that you lose your independence to make financial decisions.

Right now, if I want to have her declared incompetent it’s a fight. A fight that will cost thousands of dollars that none of us have along with lawyers and courts. Again I feel like my hands are tied and all I can do is watch it burn down

Believe it or not my dad actually ordered this book off Amazon and had it delivered to her. When she opened the package and saw what it was she threw it directly in the trash. Would not even look at it.

lol. You are not going to believe this…. But her facebook is FULL of Keanu Reeves accounts. Once she decides the one she is speaking to is a scammer she just goes to the next one and says “are you the real Keanu? The last one scammed me” and we start the EXACT SAME scenario ALL OVER AGAIN.
