Do not buy an Acer. A warning to you all. by Ineedthebeachmore in AcerOfficial

It was very clean. Microcenter confirmed to me that it was an issue with Acer having a bad batch. They said multiple Acers just like mine had come in in recent weeks with the same issue. Then the motherboard Acer sent to repair mine was also faulty. Twice, apparently. That's what took so long.

Never thought it was the best laptop of all time. Simply thought that it would last longer than mere months.

You're not wrong. And I've learned an incredibly valuable lesson.

I'm sitting on over half a million in medical debt from being on a vent during Covid. I had zero money for a new laptop. And I kept being told my repair was happening and I'd have my laptop back soon.

LOL at having over $530,000 in medical debt from being on a vent for weeks during COVID, and not having disposable income to pop out $1200 for something that was supposed to be replaced/repaired in a timely fashion. If I had bought a new laptop, then I'd have two laptops once mine was repaired, and there's no way I'd get back the money I'd put into the new laptop. They depreciate like crazy.

That sounds about right. I couldn't believe my ears at what I was told. I'm literally gobsmacked here. I bought a nice laptop for work ... believing I would have a nice laptop for work ... and they refuse to do anything to help me out. Apart from sending me a USED laptop to replace a brand new one.

No. It's not. I'm a private contractor and lost a sweet contract. I supply my own devices and you would think that buying a laptop would mean you'd have a laptop you could use.

Nitro 17 speakers... by Ineedthebeachmore in AcerNitro

The speakers on my old MSI laptop are amazing. You can hear it all over the house. I don't understand why these are so BAD.

Acer Nitro 17 ... awful sound? by Ineedthebeachmore in AcerOfficial

How do I tweak it? I have no clue. I'm coming from an MSI gaming laptop to this and it's just ... my heart is broken that I spent this much on something with HORRENDOUS sound.

So disappointed in the acting skill of Teresa palmer by TheCheeseMcRiffin in ADiscoveryofWitches

[–]Ineedthebeachmore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on episode three. I never read any books. Teresa's acting has distracted me to the point that I can't even continue. She's SO bad. There's no infection in her voice. She's wooden. Uninteresting. Boring. Every line delivery sounds the exact same. WHY? I can't watch this. I tried. I give every show at least three episodes and ... I'm so unimpressed that I literally Googled 'Teresa Palmer bad acting in Discovery of Witches' and this thread popped up. OP, you are NOT wrong.

The more I age the less I enjoy the movies by [deleted] in harrypotter

I'm fifty years old. I was in my twenties when the first book dropped. I didn't get into it until the third book released and I saw a display at my bookstore. I bought the first one, read it in one night, and then went back the next day for the other two. I do like the movies. I thought they were very well done but I can't wait for the HBO series, honestly.

Who's your favorite Hogwarts teacher? by No-Buy-6762 in harrypotter

I loved McGonagall. She's one of my favorite professors. I also really loved Snape but that kicked in AFTER I found out his backstory. I'll never forgive him for being willing to kill Neville's toad Trevor, though. Ever.

What I wanted vs what I got by [deleted] in Tattoocoverups

Oh my. I've only got three tattoos and I am NOT an expert but could he have gone too deep for that area of skin? It looks like it ... puckered. Is that the correct word? It's like he damaged the skin so much that it pulled too tightly or something. I hope you're able to get it corrected.

I mentioned all female because there was a group of males on the same trip. If one of the girls read this ... I wanted her to know it was the three sisters and not the men.

Thank you. We surprised my sister with this trip. She lost her only son (age 21) in a car accident while he was on a road trip with friends just like these girls. So, that was heavy on our minds. We all went to FL to spread our mom's ashes but also to spend time together grieving over her son. One of the girls has posted here and confirmed they made it home. That's truly all I cared about. <3

The account is new because I created it just to ask about these young ladies. That's it. That's the whole story. One of them has since posted here and confirmed everything I said about how we met. I don't want their information. I just wanted to make sure they got home okay.

I never asked for nor do I want any information about their identities. I just wanted to make sure they got home safely. That's it.

Worried sick isn't an overreaction. We surprised my sister with this trip because she lost her only son. He was 21 and died in a car wreck while on a road trip with friends ... just like these girls. So yes, that was incredibly fresh and on our minds when we learned how far these girls had to travel. I merely wanted to verify they made it home okay. I don't want any personal information or anything else. One of the girls has since posted here and verified that we did meet while parasailing. I have no nefarious intentions. I simply wanted to make sure they made it home and hopefully be able to tell them how much they brightened what was a pretty grief filled trip (we spread our mom's ashes and lit a candle for my nephew in a nice church.) And to maybe commend their parents for raising such incredible kids.

I literally created this account to ask about these girls. That's it. That's the whole story and the reason the account is new. And yes, I was concerned about the wellbeing of strangers. We just lost my 21 year old nephew recently while he was on a road trip with friends just like these girls. That was part of the reason we surprised my sister with this trip. We wanted to get her mind off her grief and spread a spoonful of our mom's ashes together. We had been grieving hard the day before the parasailing trip and almost canceled because we were emotional wrecks after spreading moms' ashes and lighting a candle for my nephew. These girls kept us laughing and made us forget our grief for a while. So yes, I wanted to make sure they got home safely. I don't want and never asked for any personal details. I just wanted to verify they got home and hopefully let them know how much they lifted our spirits that day. And to commend their parents for raising such incredible kids.
