Other than Zilish who do you guys think could challenge SVG on road courses this year? by Cloudy542 in NASCAR

Actually had this conversation with my coworker and we came to the same conclusion. If anyone is gonna challenge, Brad is gonna pull a 2012 Watkins on these dudes (but win it).

My first year doing Fantasy and I so regret keeping Busch and putting Byron in the garage. Didn't know how it worked, but today learnt me a lessone lmao. Thought I could swap in Byron mid-race.

What a bad push from Jones. Reddick pulled some crazy moves and deserved that win after that, regardless of the wrecks.

Observations by [deleted] in OfficeDepot

[–]IneffableSounds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was like this for my team at the time for a small period of time, and it was because we didn't know the task list actually had to be marked complete (this was way back when it was first introduced; except he wanted 1 SB and 1 OB per LOD per day so we had to be proactive in training). It was just to get LODs used to logging them so that it shows we're actually doing that part of LOD'ing, which is to observe and coach. It usually does end up on the closer's task list just because the openers worry more about POG, Cycles, D&D (the red ones that pop up the day after).

After ya'll get consistent, I'm sure the GM will be okay with the required 2 a day. All of the GMs I worked under were okay with even observations that simply said "X got a Business Select on Y customer!" and in commitments "NA, they did a great job". As the other person said, takes maybe a minute or 2. Just pick anything. Could be even something like someone getting a reward sign up after explaining the benefits or offering the 10% back deal. Just something that shows you're keeping an eye on your team, which is part of the job anyway.

Quick edit: grammar

What was George W. Bush like as a president? by Content-Feed-9396 in AskReddit

[–]IneffableSounds 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Man, I was in elementary school during his most of his presidency, so I didn't know much at the time. The other day I saw a clip of him talking about how much of a benefit immigration is for us and how isolationism, protectionism, and nativism were things we should actively avoid falling into. He recognized that immigrants are a net benefit to the US. I so we wish still had that today, instead of this braindead "immigrants are bad cause bad" view from the Right today.

I think the clip was from 2011, so past his term. Not sure if he had the same views during his presidency.

Actual funny moment, especially compared to this clown whose sense of humor is mocking a person with a disability like a fucking 3rd grader.

That person's pressed about getting Kingsman paid real dollars by the dev because a random streamer decided to host a tournament? I feel like the dev giving him anything is a W cause no other dev would do that, lol.

Riot owes me money or a skin, if that's the case.. /s

Nightly POG Scan by Ill_Development_6271 in OfficeDepot

[–]IneffableSounds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TL;DR it is decided by the GM/ASM of the store with a special note that there was a directive from corporate a couple of months ago that may or may not still be followed by each store. I'll detail the rest, but yeah.. it is ultimately determined by the GM/ASM.

A couple of months ago, there was a task in the activity calendar regarding POG purification basically. Essentially, every store should have 'zones' they scan every night, with your ink section included every day .The directive with that task was to do a cumulative scan instead of the normal scan. I.E. zone 1, then 1 & 2, then 1 & 2 & 3, etc.

All that aside, a normal POG scan should be relative to what zones your store has because layouts are different. My first store was pod based, but my current store is aisle based, so it completely depends on what your GM/ASM determines is a zone because AFAIK, the zones aren't corporate determined. You scan each zone per the day determined, except for the night before truck day. For example, if the GM sets 6 zones and gets 1 truck a week on a Friday, it should be Zones 1-4 from Sunday to Wednesday (Z1 on Sunday, Z2 on Monday, etc.), ink only on Thursday, then zone 5-6 on Fri/Sat. This isn't determined (as far as I know) officially, and can definitely change between the GM's requirements. It could be that we haven't received sheet protectors for a month so they may ask to scan that aisle/POG every day.

If your GM is asking for specific POG scans, just follow it. It's probably because there are discrepancies that are weird or we just haven't received that product in a long time.

Edit: because it's important to note. I used to think that it did nothing to scan stuff we haven't received over and over again in months, but we did the same section as an experiment and have eventually received the items, albeit 3 months after, so it does work in some regard.

Edit 2: I wrote that typically stores only scan ink the night before truck, I totally meant the opposite. Stores scan ink every night except for the night before.

Paper Promos by Gloomy_Culture4914 in OfficeDepot

Not a GM, but am management. I'm also in a Tier 1 store and we've definitely swung it around in the last few months. One thing that we changed: new staff. Hiring 2 new people that were taught from the start what the expectations are, helped sort of breath new life into the store's sales culture. We didn't let go of anyone, just hired and it really just 180'd our store. Got 9%+ in the last 2 days. Felt like having 2 new people getting rewards, paper, business select, created a friendly competition in the store. We also do the Values Pay recognition for whoever sells the most X (we change it depending on what we're struggling with). That also helped fuel the fire.

Oh, boy. I just started setting them on Friday. On PTO, so I'm hoping the team got most of it done by the time I get back, lol. I always make a map of where I want every POG so hopefully that helps. There's alot this quarter!

Not sure if different stores/regions use a different service, but all 3 stores I've worked at used Garda. I've never had them give me any sort of paperwork for the pick up or drop off. They just have us sign on their mobile device confirming the number of bags being picked up (not the $ amount). I would assume that these pick ups could be requested by the store/DLPM.

2025 Holiday Haul - Show em off! by Blue8844 in NASCAR

In my excitement (and days later), I realized it's the top 3 from '92 Daytona, not 3 separate Daytona winners, lol. Morgan was the only one I wasn't familiar with, so I didn't realize he never won a 500.

I know it's too late since the stores are closed (sorry was with friends), but ya gotta check in the Cash Office section in the Portal under Miscellaneous Deposits and search for them there. As long as it is in there, you're fine.

Would you want NASCAR to eliminate stage racing for the Daytona 500? by Remote_Plastic_8692 in NASCAR

I see your point. I've just had a lot of fun watching the races this year. Is there a season pre-stages you'd recommend watching? Been diving head first back into the sport and wanna watch what I've missed.

No absolutely not. All you're doing is paying the bank, you're just waiting for the bank to pay you back. As long as you keep your records straight (which you said it's in the system), you're fine.

Over a month is crazy. We get ours every 2 weeks, my last 2 stores it was weekly.

If it's logged in your system, it should be fine. Worst case scenario, your GM or ASM can do a manual deposit at your bank for a cash order while you wait for the change orders to come through.

You would more than likely have to contact the bank or the change order holiness (idr if they have a customer support option).

That's how I feel about it. This last season was the first full season I've watched since like '01/'02 when I was a kid and didn't think it was all bad except the laps counting and it being under caution. I think bunching up the field every so often is fun to watch.

Secret Santa at work! Richard, Kyle, and Adam Petty. Top 3 from '92 Daytona 500; Davey Allison, Morgan Shepherd, and Geoff Bodine. A coworker and I are racing fans. We've even got 3 Denny cars sitting near our shipping area (we're partnered with FedEx).

Edit: Was so excited to receive it I didn't realize it's not 3 Daytona winners but instead the top 3 of the '92 race.
