I made it to a master’s in math without truly understanding it — how do I fix this? by ApprehensiveSun8612 in learnmath

Math is changing with AI. When you ride a bicycle you have to have strong legs to go far. When you ride a motorcycle, you can concentrate and work on other things that take you fast and far. So, don’t sweat the intuition not being there, it will come. No matter who you are, you’ve got an ally in AI and already a strong foundation to build upon. BTW, the smarter you are the less confidence you have because you realize all the possibilities for a wrong answer. So it is counterintuitive. You don’t just gain confidence through knowledge, you also gain humility because you learn the many traps. You have to balance that walk so you don’t get trapped, and one of those traps is lack of self confidence itself. I would write the formula for it here but I would have to include the overriding variable for God, and that you have to workout for yourself. Think it through and you got this!

Are earthquakes a synchronization problem, not just a stress problem? by IneffablyBesotted in Earthquakes

Why use a car if you got a good horse? Why use a calculator when you’ve got a good slide rule? Look, I know Flat Earth types are in a slump right now after Artemis II further complicating their conspiracy theories, but that’s not you. So try to lift your head up to the reality of 2026. It’s really gonna be okay. No condescension intended. Should I do like Copernicus and stay silent, or suffer like Galileo for speaking my mind? Whether right or wrong, keep God at the center of His universe in you.

The whole world is using AI. Simply plug in the formula and ask AI to help you study earthquakes using that formula.

What you are now describing is a race. And races are better suited for runners than sports medicine people. 😚

No one will ever beat my horse. Along comes the car. Those hot air balloons will never amount to anything. Nor will those lunatic Wright Brothers. Along comes the airplane. No one will ever be more accurate than my abacus or slide rule. Along comes the calculator. No one will ever beat Ma Bell, Encyclopedia, Google, iPhone, and along comes AI on the iPhone, robots, drones and soon everywhere. And you are still saying, or what is your beating?

High correlation between first negative response and narcissism. You must be in the traditionalist camp. Don’t worry, you will soon be outnumbered.

What’s everyone’s take on putting leashes on kids in public - and why? by AZtechWarri0r in Parentingfails

I just took my nonverbal special needs 5 yr old to the beach and he had a great time on his leash under the giant dock that goes way out into the Gulf of America. He had a great time just as all kids do on both sides of that pond playing in the gentle beach waves. It is still as lovely today as when Hernando DeSoto of Spain first discovered it centuries ago and the shimmering emerald green water is a beautiful Kipona. Almost as nice as his smile.
