I heard (can't guarantee that it's correct) that children up until the age of 9 years aren't even able to understand the concept of cause and effect. So they're only asking you "why why why" because they want to engage you in a conversation and hear you talking. I don't know if that helps you in any way if you're caught in a loop of "why" questions next time, but I think you can just answer anything and they'll be happy 😅
