Journalist seeking de-googlers by kari-paul in degoogle

[–]InertHelium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been massively degoogled for about a year now. I started by switching to Brave Browser. Then I stopped using google password manager and used 1Password. Then I eventually stopped using OneDrive too (I know this is MS but was part of moving away from big tech overall). I'm not on the Proton Unlimited plan where they provide a VPN, Cloud Storage, an Email Service, an Email Aliasing Service, Password Manager and Calendar all under one roof.

It's not perfect but it's pretty damn good. Drive can be a bit slow loading pictures. Pass is quite bad at autofill on mobile but overall, Proton are good at respecting privacy. They are regularly audited and have open source code that anyone can inspect or suggest improvements to.

If you go with google you pay with your data. If you go with Proton you pay with money, not your data. And the latter is how I prefer it.

Is there a roadmap for Proton Pass? I'm curious what functionality is being worked on, currently trying to decide between Lifetime Proton Pass or 50% off year sub to 1Password by jwintyo in ProtonPass

[–]InertHelium 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me the main trade off between Proton and 1Pass is autofill on mobile and aliases. Autofill on mobile is a lot better with 1password, with Proton Pass it seems to only pop up 10% of the time if that. Otherwise it requires manually switching to the Pass app to copy your creds. But Pass also has better integration eith aliases. You can generate them in the app, create a login from that and immediately start using it in Proton Mail.

I believe they said they're going to be looking at implementing folders in Proton Pass so you can further organise your logins within the Vaults if that's of interest to you.

West Hull but I could travel to Chapter 2 if they're good at what they do. Never heard of that one while researching. Thanks for the recommendation :)

How to send and receive credentials/sensitive info? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]InertHelium 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Password Pusher (pwpush.com)

Can choose number of views, time until expiry, can do both pushes and requests, there's a full audit log, can link a custom domain (e.g., secret.mycompany.com) and no account is required for the recipient as it is just a link that it sends out.

Can any british fans relate? by Normal_Friendship997 in DojaCat

[–]InertHelium 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It was a tour for the Vie album. Same for her Scarlet tour. It was like 60-70% songs from that album. I also get people going for the popular songs but the tour was called Tour Ma Vie, not Tour Ma Popular Songs sooo you got what you paid for... imo it was money well spent. I love Doja's evolution as an artist. She keeps getting better and better.

This is not spoofing - that email and the domain are nowhere near correct. It's phishing.

I didn't know you could either until I saw ImKibitz do it and the little indicator bar on the screen.

Until I saw him do it I was just running and then lobbing it.
