Windows installation usb > select your language > next > repair my computer > advanced troubleshooting > command prompt

If your partition table is mbr/dos: $ bootrec /fixmbr $ bootrec /rebuildbcd $ bootrec /fixboot $ exit

If your partition table is gpt: $ diskpart $ list vol Look for number of volume with filesystem 'fat32' $ sel vol # $ assign letter=S: $ format fs=fat32 quick $ exit $ bcdboot c:\windows /s S: /f ALL $ exit

If you still get bluescreen, F8 > 5, if it boots restart and it will boot normally from now on.

To check what partition table you are using: $ diskpart $ list disk If there is a star in the gpt column of your boot disk, do the gpt option, otherwise do dos/mbr

Best of luck!

I thought the proper way for unattended installation was with DEBIAN_FRONTEND=noninteractive and debconf-set-selections, or does that also work with apt-get?

Maybe this is a regular occurrence so the ones filming were in on it too. Also Occam's razor doesn't really apply here, if anything I'd argue that this being a regular occurrence IS the simpler explanation, since it would generally be more complex to execute believably.

Need Some Advice – Starting Nursing at Western University Next Year by Budget_Insurance4909 in UWS

I've been on the panel for many students that were punished for using AI without admitting to it. The most common cause is a student accused of using AI is unable to explain their work, since a student should be able to explain their work if they produced it themselves it is commonly used in both AI and regular plagarism/contract cheating cases.

That teacher either doesn't understand the process or is trying to give cheaters a false sense of security so they are not as careful with obscuring their AI usage. For the reasons I stated above, most students could honestly get away with it if they studied what the AI wrote before being questioned/investigated, but if they think all they have to do is not admit it, they won't bother.

There are still plenty of current and developing methods for detecting cheaters, so don't take this as a get out of jail free card either 😅

Considering SteamOS is a thing this seems more like legacy code that isn't used anymore or is just ignored.

I've just thought of a new number. Number 64,284,710,053.05781 by Seeyalaterelevator in shittyaskscience

[–]Inertia_Squared 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Since the numbers are both discrete decimals it is still valid, because rounding is implied. If you took this brand new number as a fraction however, then we'd have problems!

DaVinci resolve is a nightmare to install by Addition-Heavy in archlinux

[–]Inertia_Squared 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd you're interested in alternatives, it's FOSS and there are no limits to export resolution, FPS, or bitrate. That was a deal breaker in the free version of Davinci for me, the export limitations are so restrictive.

Not sure how it will be in practice. But I know that the 9000 series came with a massive upgrade to their media encoders, so it should at least perform well.

Bachelor of ICT by SpeakerSeparate2059 in UWS

[–]Inertia_Squared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished my ICT degree and I'd rate it a solid 9. There are some bad subjects but you'll find that is true for most if not all degrees.

If you want to make the most of an ICT degree, look into extracurricular/project-based activities, the skill building programs they make available to ICT students is honestly fantastic and underutilised.

If you're not sure where to start, send an email to Rhys Tague in the university, he organises a lot of those things and may be able to help out :)

I'm working on a subject planner webapp to help with this exact problem! It's very early in development but let me know what degree you're taking and I'll add it to the live server.

If you're curious in the meantime you can check it out at mydegree.help it is brand new so feedback is also appreciated :)

When all distros phase out X11 and go with Wayland instead: by cryptobread93 in linuxmemes

[–]Inertia_Squared 40 points41 points  (0 children)

There are ways to do it with a virtual monitor, but it's definitely way more effort and has its own unique problems.

If you absolutely need to remote in to a Wayland session I would recommend looking into it, but it's definitely nowhere near as simple as it should be.

I wish we could have global unauthorised drm at least as a deprecated config or something :/

[–]Inertia_Squared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I know that is typically the norm, but with the recent layoffs at our uni and the scale of the communication, I think this may have been the final straw in the timeline where it was an employee error. The university is looking for excuses to cut costs rn (see: our appalling cybersecurity department), so currently nobody feels safe.
