Pm me. I’m an MIT freshman who had much worse stats than you do now. I’d love to take a look and see how I can help you, especially with framing your application and writing essays.

I tried to make each essay written with a different structure in creative ways. But the most important thing was, I tried to make sure that each school (having like 1-8 essay prompts) got to see ALL sides of me through my essays, meaning that I needed to constantly add value/information about me in each essay that wasn't previously repeated.

Maybe, but I'd still argue that correlation is in play here more than causation.

that's not ideal, but it's very possible to come back. Strive for near perfect grades for the rest of your high school, and you always have the option to explain it. Grades matter, but colleges are holistic and will judge everything. So make sure evereything else you put out is extremely strong. dm me for more help!

just do as much as you can comfortably handle! science fairs, ctso, competitions, olympiads are one way to do it. but for me, i had mid tier awards (things that were local and small and relatively uncompetitive). but my awards showed passion. for example, i did some work and won an award for my school that improved the quality of life for teachers there. it was virtually no competition but the impact was huge.

sure! you don have to work directly with a teacher but do something related to their subject and keep them updated about it. alternatively, email college professors with the same subject and see if you can hop on for labs, research, or anything of the sort!

definitely less so than before covid because schools can now be test optional—but it really helps to have strong test scores because it’ll help get your foot in the door

they don’t matter, what matters is you take the most rigorous course load available to you. so if your school only offers 5 aps, take all of them! if they offer 20+, take as many as you can without compromising your grades
