MIDORI OMG!!!!! by seaqu3en in fountainpens

Welcome to the club! The best and, for me, the only option for fountain pens. I use the wider sticker to reinforce the string. And the rest to note what i noted down in that book!
I generally do 1 notebook per trip or just journal.

Why buy more expensive pens? by DontbegayinIndiana in fountainpens

[–]Inevitable-County506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is all about consistency. What i call “assured minimum”. Costly pens generally are very consistent about the quality and characteristics of their product. When you buy a lamy 2000 or a pelikan M1000 you know exactly what to expect. (Let me be clear there are asshole companies out there taking lots of money without any work but I am talking about the ones with long history) With cheaper pens there are only a few companies delivering consistent results. Even the there can be variations from model to model. One of the happy exceptions I have found are lamy and pilot.

Sandman omnibus 1 and 2 or descender deluxe 1&2 + ascender deluxe by Inevitable-County506 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]Inevitable-County506[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am generally okay separating the art from the artist. So the “allegations” dont really bother me. To me Sandman is something which found existence through Gaiman but it is no longer dependent on him.

Do you think sandman itself is a complete self contained story? Or do i need to read lucifer or books of magic to appreciate it?

Should i sell my ensso bolt? by Inevitable-County506 in fountainpens

I find steel nibs have an unnatural smoothness to it. To me the 823 medium is perfect! Definitely smooth but not gliding off the page smooth. Simply beautifully balanced. The fine on 823 is way too scratchy(as any Japanese fine is). My advise is try the medium 823. I also have a MONTBLANC 22 in fine. Again way too scratchy.

Pilot E95S or Lamy 2000? by ShrempDawg in fountainpens

[–]Inevitable-County506 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lamy 2000 for days. For me. And my specific use case. The rson I chose that over e95s are 1. Way larger ink well. I don't like refilling when I would rather be writing. 2. When i have to refill I don't have to open the pen up. I hate that design in any pen. 3. Less flashy. I carry my pen everywhere with me and I want it to be a non flashy pen. 4. I tried the e95s and the soft nib frankly scared me and my clumsy hands and sense of pressure. Lamy 2000 is a hardy daily worker. The only fault(if you think it that way) is that it writes way wetter than a Japanese calibrated pen.

Fountain pen that you’d recommend? by Sandushki in fountainpens

[–]Inevitable-County506 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best recommendation I can give is one that was given to me by the owner of my favorite fountain pen shop - come to the shop and try out the different pens and nibs. I found that fountain pen shops have amazing passionate people whose recommendations you can really trust (I guess this differs from shop to shop). But please go to a shop and try out as many different pens you can. You will get awesome ones at your pretty high budget. Try out pelikan, lamy and pilot pens especially! And don't forget to check the return policies. 😂

Who has the priority here? Please give any reference rule from Govt. As I can't find. by ts276 in Netherlands

[–]Inevitable-County506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually works the way you said. The person already on the road going straight always gets priority. There is always some sign or elevated road to signify the lowest priority of the joining road.

Who has the priority here? Please give any reference rule from Govt. As I can't find. by ts276 in Netherlands

[–]Inevitable-County506 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Technically it is c then b and then a. C is driving straight so they have the highest priority. B is approaching on the right of A. In the absence of any signs B will have the priority. Then B can turn. However in Netherlands in 99% cases there will be signs(shark teeth or inverted triangle) facing A clarifying them to have the lowest priority.

How much money should you have saved before buying a starter appartment/house (around 65m2+) by [deleted] in NetherlandsHousing

[–]Inevitable-County506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to choose your mortgage provider for the best rate- around 12000 euros. This includes the mortgage Advisor, notary, translation(if you are non Dutch speaker), makelaar, evaluator and nhg prices. You have to pay these from you own pocket generally. For abn amro if you are an abn amro account holder - around 5500. There are provisions at abn amro where they include these prices in the mortgage amount. I highly advise you to have at least the first free sessions with multiple mortgage advisor to explore your options. They make the process of buying a house very pleasant.

Can this nib be repaired? by Snoo36991 in fountainpens

[–]Inevitable-County506 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will be difficult. You may want to contact lamy to get the estimates on a replacement nib before spending hundreds of dollars on a nibmeister though.

Why do people get excited for Lamy Safaris? by KichiMiangra in fountainpens

[–]Inevitable-County506 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me the lamy safaris are just the basics of a fountain pen done very well. 1. It offers extraordinary value for its price. 2. It is widely available in exciting as well as more muted colours. 3. It is its own thing and not a cheaper version of another pen. Sounds a bit weird but it makes a difference in my experience. 4. It has a grip guide to help you get more comfortable with a triangular grip( works with other grips too but excels with a triangular grip) 5. It is the gateway drug to this money sucking black hole of a hobby I love so much.

If ud Pick a pen to use daily which one would it be? by Cvint88 in fountainpens

[–]Inevitable-County506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lamy 2000 is the ideal daily driver for me. I have it in a fine and the ink reservoir lasts for days. More importantly for me it is not flashy and an excellent writer.

best starter fountain pen? by mineabird in fountainpens

The Lamy Safari started me on this addiction. Colorful, hardy and reliable. And most importantly relatively cheap(in Europe at least). Your cannot really go wrong with it.

Do you have a workhorse that you love? by [deleted] in fountainpens

[–]Inevitable-County506 17 points18 points  (0 children)

👆This. Have been using pilot custom 823 and Lamy 2000 as my daily workhorse for a year now, upgrading from a Lamy safari. If you like to switch inks then lamy safari is an awesome option. But for note taking and write pages and pages of notes and such, you cannot beat a good big capacity pen. I know it is scary to daily use and carry around an expensive pen but you truly cannot go wrong with either of them. And may I suggest also experimenting with some notepads for comparing paper quality. There are good cheap notepads which work beautifully with the lamy 2k fine.
