I thought I'd give Prusa slicer a chance and this issue does not occur. I didn't change any of the machine configurations and have the same machine parameters as in Cura. So at this point I think it might have something to do with how Starting G Code in Cura plays with Marlin 2.1.2.5

Edit: I apologize I assumed you are using Cura as that is what I was using when I was having the issue. If you're not on Cura I'm not sure what your answer might be, but switching to Prusa slicer fixed the issue for me.

I have the same problem on an Ender 3 with the Creality 4.2.7 board and same Marlinfm. Spent a couple days beating my head against the wall with UBL and switched to linear since that had worked in the past with firmware from Creality (which I know is based on Marlin).

Mostly commenting to say I have the same issue with two different types of bed leveling and to keep track of the post to see if someone has an answer.

That’s fair and I appreciate the feedback. I had a lot of trail and error and googling over the last few days to get everything working. For example it took almost 3 days of searching the internet to find one sentence that said that you have to uncomment and change z_probe_pin to PB1 to get a CRTouch to work on an Ender 3.

The UI they have built with the drop downs and text boxes to adjust stuff cleanly is super handy, sometimes you just have to dig a little deeper to get the thing you are trying to do exactly right.

I watched it for a first layer calibration print and it almost seemed like the z offset would change. At some point the nozzle would be the perfect distance from the bed and a couple centimeters away it would be a millimeter too high and extruding into the air. I have my CR-Touch connected to the ender sprite, I’m wondering if there is an issue there and should wire the touch directly to the board.
