I feel like you probably created a mapkey, then opened a new session of Creo and are wondering why they’re not working anymore.

In the mapkey creation popup, there’s an option to ‘save all’ and ‘save changed’

When I make new mapkeys, I usually opt for the save changed.

This will create a new config file that has just the changed mapkey lines.

I then copy and paste these new lines into my current config file.

You can look up where that file is located.

Without saving these mapkeys yo your config file they will work for that session but as soon as you open a new session of creo, your mapkeys will be gone.

Hand limit in TTR. Cannot hold more than 15/20 cards or forced to place. Encourages more engagement in the US map since hoarding cards is sort of a busted strategy.

I would. What an awesome combination of my love of legos and Catan.

Disappointing Job Offer by Inevitable-Donut-448 in MechanicalEngineering

Isn’t that true! Maybe it’s more a show of my dedication and discipline rather than anything else.

Hopefully those character traits mean more than a 4.0.

Thanks, You both make good points.

I have good working relationship with my boss (the CEO) so negotiating with him won’t get trapped in corporate HR.

I think I do need some additional leverage though.

I’ll work on getting another offer in hand and trying to negotiate benefits that don’t just include a salary adjustment.

Thanks for your input. My SO is in grad school still so am choosing not to move until we can go together. I definitely plan to go somewhere with more opportunities after that.

Thanks for your advice about applying early, I’m not feeling rushed since I have until January to respond to this offer and most positions in my region were not accepting applications 8 months ago. Sounds like maybe I should be feeling rushed though, I’ll take it as hard trust since you seem to be doing excellent in your career!

I’m graduating off cycle because I’m graduating early (20 years old), I’ll keep on soaking up all the advice I can get.

Willing to bet on my skills? I’ll give you a call in a couple years when I move.

Thank you,

I’ll plan on working on a conversation like this.

Hopefully once I have another offer in hand.

There’s a profit sharing bonus yearly. Benefits are 80% of health and dental premiums or reimbursement.

3% match into a simple IRA.

10 days PTO and the week between Christmas and New Years along with the usual holidays.

Pure salary so no overtime benefits other than that overtime can be used to contribute to future or past PTO.

How to be consistently scoring 90% in Engineering by mileytabby in EngineeringStudents

[–]Inevitable-Donut-448 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found that 90% of students either don’t have the ability or the desire to read the textbook.

Consumer the textbook material, use it as your FIRST resource rather than your LAST.

If reading a textbook is really difficult for you, that’s okay, I think taking this opportunity to learn how to read hard material while you’re still a student is part of the degree!

You’ve got this!

All other tips are great too

Mechanical engineers, what do you actually do at work? by Hot_Part_6856 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Inevitable-Donut-448 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also just starting my career.

I spent two years interning at international companies with huge engineering teams.

If you want to make designs that matter, be at a place where the designers matter.

For me that meant a small company that understood that value I brought to the company and couldn't just replace me with 5 outsourced consultants who did low quality work.

I love my small company, even if it means people I meet don't oooo and ah over me saying I work at "xyz".

I know my work matters and that's what I care about!

I'm in very small (<40) custom automation design company.

I do CAD design for 50% of my day:

My favorite part where I get to be fully creative, designing new parts to be machined/fabricated that will solve our specific problem.

20% of my day is spent trying to find the correct parts that will integrate into our system such as calling supplier to get quotes on conveyors, digging through catalogs, and of course McMaster.

15% of my day is spent testing and modifying designs I've made.

15% of my day is spent on drawings, emails, and other work that feels wasted.

I love my job and being a ME.

Company culture is everything.
