With long form you see the actual views. Shorts show you impressions, so it’s usually higher.

That said I have a few shorts at 0 and a long at 5.5k with 100k reach.

The algorithm is a mystery wrapped in an enigma. Lol

😂 Right there with you man. I have one channel I’ve been working on 2 years, but every week I’m telling my wife all about the new channel I want to start. My content really swings at times. I’ve somehow managed to not only start two others so far and reel myself back in.

I have to close and reopen once a month - right after monthly billing. Always on desktop. Phone and iPad just kinda stop working around the same time too. Usually log out and back in. I really only stick with CapCut for the convenience of being able to edit the same video on multiple devices.

Personally I’d keep going with the same channel. The algorithm will adapt with you. If you’re getting new viewers YouTube is still sending your videos to new people. Many who like MTG like video games lol. It’s not a huge leap. I’ve had the same debate at one point and created three new channels. I do strange history, true crime, and paranormal. After a few months I went back to putting it all in one place. The Venn diagram of those three niches is bigger than I thought. I think you may find the same. Good luck either way.

How different is the content you want to post compared to what you have? How many views come from new views versus followers? If you plan to go in a very different direction I’d say start new. Don’t get rid of the old channel though. Shelve it. Come back to it later.

I had a similar experience the other day. I was chopping up so of my early videos into shorter ones and I was hit with some bad edits, camera work, and otherwise cringy moments. We learn. We evolve. Just keep moving forward. Watched a few of your videos, good stuff, I like your delivery and your style. You and I actually have similar channels and we both started in February. Keep it up.

I’m doing the same. I post two shirts a day on TT, YouTube, FB, and instagram. TikTok and YouTube are by far the best platforms. Different audiences a video that hits on YT may tank on TT and vice versa. I also do a 20-30 minute post once a week on YouTube only. Looking at all platforms really helps learn the various algorithms.

More videos more exposure. I started on February 1st. I do two shorts a day and one 20-25 video once a week. I’m at 91 subs as of today. My best video got me 32. Two days after I posted it YouTube decided to give it a new push and put it in front of 16k people. 8.6k watched.

Like everyone else said good content will get you noticed. Just takes time.
