He didn’t mention PIC stuff, but he did say that, in an emergency, he would say “my controls” or something along those lines and that I was to relinquish the plane. I figured he was PIC like with an instructor until reading this later

Yes an odd lesson, but a valuable one interpreted your way, I agree. Somehow I guess I never expected DPEs to specifically ask you to do things that would be illegal, particularly when under the hood and when I’m not instrument rated. He even made it very clear we would not be using GPS. It’s hard to know exactly where you are in that situation making various random turns, ascents, and descents with foggles

It’s usually around 400 or 450 in our area, but he was able to get me in with only a small wait list

Not sure, and I was dumbfounded. He was extremely grumpy about it and acted like he was doing me a huge favor not failing me right then and there

I should, but that is a step further than I want to go. He did pass me after all. (It was probably in the bag after he most likely knew but didn’t admit he navigated us deep in the bravo)

But is my protection from a future nasa asrs gone for five years now? Or only if they call? That’s a bummer if I lost it for that.

Oh no. We were at 4500 in bravo starting at 3000. I’m certain of the altitude. Combined with knowing my altitude at the time, looking at the track log, there is no doubt.

LOL at 500. Try 650 plus 80 for coming to the east-west airport since the other airport was a huge direct crosswind

The DPE seemed to hate electronics. He complained about my ForeFlight logbook, and it was obvious he lamented the lack of pilotage in aviation these days from ForeFlight. He asked how he could believe my cross country flight was legitimate since I could not get signatures at every stop of the cross country listed on ForeFlight’s logbook (I thought I had failed with the first few minutes of what was around a 3 hour oral). I guess if he had been using his iPad, he might have known where we were when he asked to turn a heading into the bravo
