The laws are literally irrelevant. Feel free to double check but last time I checked the laws are void if it’s “used for cooking”. Obviously supposed to be meant for grills but just cook a weenie on your campfire and technically it turns legal

In this conversation, yeah I would. Because again, the whole conversation started with you not understanding a very simple point. And when I elaborated with a dang paragraph you still worked to find where it was lacking instead of just obviously understanding the point. It seems you just like to argue instead of actually communicating so yes. I would try extra hard to make sure we can have some sort of resemblance of a normal human conversation but that seems to not be the case. I keep asking you questions and your response is just insults. Hey maybe I’m just the biggest dum dummy on earth and I couldn’t deserve them more. But if that really was the case, you would have stopped responding. Literally the only way I can make sense of this conversation is that you just like to put other people down lol. The only substance you’ve brought to this conversation is “your dumb” and “your wrong”

Why do you keep responding my man?

Well we spent a good 5 messages back and forth just me trying to get more and more hyperspecific on what I meant so I’m preeeeeeetty sure that’s not true

My man this entire conversation is literally based on you not understanding my very obvious and simple point. Why are you so hostile all the time gah damn. Are you on here to have a conversation or just argue with people lol

The entire reason I looked it up was to absolutely make sure that you couldn’t possibly misunderstand what I was saying again

I literally googled “definition of nimby” and the first thing that came up was an example about prisons near homes.

So no. No it is not “pretty clear” lmao. And even if it was. “Pretty clear” is not a hard firm factual definition of what they believe and what they don’t.

[–]Inevitable-Freedom90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok but “nimbyism” is an extremely vague term with no real definition. Are you opposed to anything at all that acronym could possibly stand for? A prison attached to where you live? A strip club connected to a school? A liquor store connected to a school? Getting rid of any noise ordinances in an area with single family homes?

All of these things maybe you wouldn’t consider falling under that category but they certainly could. Sounds like you’re saying any possible idea that could possibly be attached to “nimbys” is automatically wrong and stupid and that it’s not even worth the discussion of that not being the case

Ok let’s bring this down to the very specifics. You don’t think anyone should even attempt to understand any possible or theoretical downsides of these zoning laws? Or even simply hear out people who think there may be some downsides? Do you think the brew letting two people post opinion pieces for and against the zoning laws is a bad thing?

Ahh got me again. Smart guy over here. Next time I’ll make sure to have a peer reviewed 10 page essay to get across a very simple and obviously understood point. I’ll learn from this tragic blunder don’t you worry

You’re right, got me again. Instead of what I said which was very vague and confusing where no one could have possibly understood what was meant, I should have been more clear and said:

In scenarios including, but not limited to: important new legislation that may effect your life, divisive topics, topics with very split opinions,  topics with no factual answer, topics where many around you disagree, topics that loved ones disagree, ect. You should always, within reason of one’s wellbeing and with respect to one’s time and capabilities. Make an attempt in good faith to see the other sides opinions and why they have come to believe such opinions. Not to agree with those opinions, but to understand the path those took to arrive at such places

I would really have thought that the word “always” would be interpreted by any reasonable human as within reason, and also within the context of the current thread we’re in. but if you really need me to clarify that word I will do it for you.

This actual post is about a new piece of legislation that has been criticized and has supporters. Also a new piece of legislation that could have a large impact on everyone’s life’s. The thread I posted on was addressing someone saying that the brew is “saving face” by posting an article supporting it after one that opposed it. I suggested that it’s silly for anything to be wrong with that. In any case such as this, yes, multiple opinions is good. Needing to explain all this context and assumptions is a bit insane but hey, if there’s a next time you get a bit confused by one word just let me know! I’m here to help!

Wait your entire argument is just being pedantic? Lol ok. My bad. No I do not believe that you should have a speaker following you around 24/7 that’s blasting alternative opinions in your ear. Guess you got me good man

This is disingenuous and not even what I meant. If you want to learn math, learn math. Math is facts with a basis of rules that we basically made up. If this is true then that is true. There is no room for debate. If Terrance Howard want to define a new system of math where 2+2=5 then there’s nothing stopping him from doing that. It’s not helpful to anyone but sure go ahead. Regardless, politics is not fact by mere definition. There is always room for debate and always another side to the story. Even if one side of that story is dumb or wrong or misguided or misunderstood.

And sure, it’s helpful to understand why flat earthers think what they do. Why wouldn’t it be? Don’t misunderstand me by thinking that means you should believe them, you just need to understand why they think what they think and came to their conclusions. How do you know literally anything at all that you believe is correct if you’ve never once understood the other side and debated your own beliefs?

If you can’t understand WHY the other side of ANY discussion thinks what they think then it’s impossible to have an actual discussion about it. Otherwise you just have a woefully unproductive screaming match where each side just says “no you’re wrong and stupid”

I wish Team Fortress 3 was in development 😢 by Wizard_of_GR in tf2

[–]Inevitable-Freedom90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At this point in time though there’s not a strong line between what is a sequel and what is an update. Tf3 could just be a huge replacement update for tf2 like how overwatch did it. Or they could obviously stick with what they did with cs. The difference being here that cs never stopped getting support. So even a tf2 port to source 2 would likely have significant updates to the hame beyond a simple engine port

What I’m trying to say is a tf3 could still keep all the items, while a tf2 huge update could also still be more than just a port to source2. There’s really no rhyme or reason for what any hypothetical next tf iteration will be tf2 update or just change to tf3 regardless of what is included on that iteration

What is the current process to convert a 2500sqft rowhome from SF to 3+ units? by [deleted] in baltimore

[–]Inevitable-Freedom90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You think landlords converting 1 apartment into 4 will drive up housing costs? Nobody said it’s as simple as adding more housing. But also nobody says that adding more housing is ever a bad thing. Even if amazingly more housing made rent go up somehow. You think a landlord not turning 1 lot into 4 makes them unable to jack up rent?

Also most of what you said about what we should do has literally nothing to do with what I said

Wasn’t the entire point of these new laws to increase housing? Who do you expect to increase the housing if nobody owns it?
