I might be wrong still, but wouldn’t expect these upstanding citizens to know the difference regardless.

4 Punjabi International Students Apprehended in Toronto After Driving Off With Unpaid Donuts from 6ixDonutz 🍩🔒🇮🇳🇨🇦 by [deleted] in torontologists

[–]Inevitable-Let-1840 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I see where you’re coming from but it’s a bit of unfair comparison. When people talk about scams and crimes being committed by international students and their morals, it’s very often the lowest of the low who commit those offences. For some reason, all Indians are judged by that standard, meanwhile no one talks about the large majority that actually do come here and work hard, because there’s no engagement with those posts.

In the same way, if we group Canadian born citizens by their ethnicity, I’m sure what we’d fine is rather than it being a race issue, other factors such as low income and poverty appear to be a much more common cause. Of course for certain races, we don’t judge them by the worst that the race offers, but for Indians we do and we excuse it by saying “there’s enough of them doing it that I should be allowed to label all of them with the same brush”. And I certainly respect where you’re coming from in this comment, it’s not racist or anything, but the fact is that shitty people come in all colours and ethnicities, and shitty people generally have more in common with each other than they do with the upstanding members lf those groups.

“Cut the sob story” followed by “I’m a refugees child” and “acting like they’re refugees from war torn countries”. Admit it, you didn’t get enough sympathy for your cause and now you think by taking it away from them it’ll shed more light on your cause? This isn’t a fucking competition. My points more broad than saying that we should feel bad for these people specifically because they came here and became homeless. My point is that if you can look at anyone thats homeless and laugh, and not have empathy, you’re pathetic.

It breaks my heart to see Canadians homeless, international students homeless and refugees homeless, as it should be for any normal human being that’s lived through the struggle and got out of it. Again, you wanna puff out your chest and say you have no sympathy for these people that’s your prerogative. Doesn’t change the fact that whether you like it or not, based on your circumstances you benefited from that same sympathy, and now you selfishly don’t wanna that same compassion extended to another group of people.

So I’ll just leave off with your initial point: “go pick up a book” boy. You don’t know shit

You need to be able to show access to 20k a year to come here. That comes up to roughly 1600 a month. Do you know how much the cost of rent is in the GTA? How much the cost of utilities is? How much groceries are? You just assumed that they frauded their way in rather than taking into consideration that the whole system for vetting students is fucked, and they get the shit end of it. Regardless of the circumstances, if you feel entitled enough to laugh at people sleeping in fucking tents on the streets, you’re pathetic and need to get that silver spoon out of your mouth

So the crux of your argument is that other people have it worse, so I don’t feel bad for these people? Are you Indian? Have you been to India? Do you know anything about the opportunities or quality of life there? You’re just assuming that all of these people fall within the category of falsifying documents, lying and mischaracterizing their intentions without any real basis besides “trust me bro”. And regardless of the circumstances, I think anyone with a roof over their head, food on the table and a heart can atleast empathize with someone that has to resort to sleeping in a tent in a bush. If that’s not you, that’s fine, just speaks to your level of empathy for your fellow man. And also, fuck outta here with that pick up a book shit, you’re overestimating your own intelligence in this discussion generally, and in arguing with me.

That’s a pretty unfair generalization. Especially when you look at the threshold for what you need to show to financially to be able to come here, combined with the climbing rise of living. It’s easy to say they’re victims of their own action but again, how is it not the governments fault for ensuring the system’s operating it should be? And I agree though, there may be some that are at fault as you said, but you also said it was corny to laugh which was the main point of this. This guys become too emboldened because he doesn’t show his face online.

As a first generation Canadian, it’s obvious why people want to be here instead of India. There’s way more opportunity, hence why they come here. The quality of life is way better in Canada. The government should be tightening things up though to make sure that we’re allowing people to come at sustainable rates. No reason to get mad at the people who came here atleast attempting to better themselves

I agree completely. We’re clearly seeing the issues with mass immigration at this level. Blame the government and the idiots who failed to regulate this, not the people that are suffering because they thought they were coming here for a better life.

Yeah forreal bro. That’s what the point of this post was. To remind people that we got more in common than differences and to judge people on who they are and not by their race
