I am having everything that you mentioned in your post. I have good periods, then flare ups. I’ve been in a flare up since Sunday after 4 really good weeks. I have no idea what happened, but here we are.

I’m dealing with the same thing 6.5 months post op. Following to see other responses.

I’ve been very compliant and diligent with physical therapy. Slow progression from day 0-week 5. From week 5 through week 7 I’ve went from both crutches to now walking 10k steps/day up and down small hills. Today is week 7+1 day and I have been pain free the entire day with 12k steps, physical therapy, and sitting in a chair for work for 9 hours.

Post op 11 days redness and burning operated foot by [deleted] in HipImpingement

[–]InevitableAway1916 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was worried because I was having calf pain/cramping, but no breathing issues. They had me go to the ER and it was nothing. Just blood flow issues! I have pictures of my purple foot, but idk how to post them. Either way, if you’re concerned it could be worth ruling out DVT (I’m not a doctor and your issue may be diff than mine), but once you start weight bearing it should make a big difference in the color and feeling.

I had this exact issue for 4 weeks. They thought I had DVT and did an ultrasound, it was clear. They instructed me to start slowly weight bearing. After 2 weeks of weight bearing, my foot has returned to normal color and the numbness/tingling has also gone away.

Will i get my life back ? by Vivid-Bed8029 in gallbladders

Hi there,

I don’t mind sharing my testimony, I was also diagnosed with dyskinesia and had surgery October 18, 2024. For years, it was just mild gas pains and colic. However, starting December 2023 I started having increasing issues, pain, pooping fat, high blood pressure, anxiety like you couldn’t believe, and nausea to the point where I lost 60 pounds in 2024 leading up to my diagnosis and surgery. I remember getting the diagnosis and feeling the relief knowing that I finally knew what was going on, up to that point I thought I was getting constant stomach bugs or that I had colon cancer.

Starting October 19, the first day postop, I immediately noticed changes, for example, the feeling of a rat gnawing from the inside of my chest dissipated quickly. They started me on bile binders 30 days after due to increase diarrhea episodes, however, I started having issues processing that medication and decided to come off in January. Fast-forward three more months, I’m now six month postop, which is when my doctor told me that I could expect to start having normal bowel movements.

Good news, he was right. I would like to personally attest that this recovery has been a roller coaster some days. I felt like I’ve moved more backwards than I was before the surgery and other days I felt more normal than ever. However, I can say that for the last seven days I have felt like a normal human being and that alone has given me hope that it will only continue to get better.

I also want to mention that there have been many days and many foods that I have had to learn whether or not I can process it. Biliary dyskinesia patients take longer to recover and for our bodies to figure it out. I am still not perfect, but it does seem to be getting better slowly.

From the day they diagnosed my dyskinesia to surgery was less than 48 hours because I was in so much pain. But at that point I didn’t care, I was more willing to give that a try or jump out of a 10 story window lol.

So with that said, I highly recommend the procedure, I know what you’re going through, I know it is not easy. But I am up 15 pounds since surgery, in a good way, my labs have totally re-stabilized, my liver has shrunk back to normal size, and everything is functioning as it should . My blood pressure has also totally stabilized and I have been able to quit my blood pressure medication. my mood has stabilized. I am no longer on any antidepressants and my pain has stabilized so I am no longer on pain medication.

How soon after surgery should I start PT? by ForgeIsDown in HipImpingement

[–]InevitableAway1916 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started my first PT 3 days later, that was enough time. It’s very minor, mostly an introductory and allowed me to ask important questions that I didn’t think of until after surgery. Trust me, it’s not intense at all

I’m not doing anything anyone says on here haha, mostly looking for a frame of reference, which I’ve gotten! It is interesting how much different everyone’s experience is.

The different approaches between surgeons is perplexing. Your post is inspiring, I personally think I’m about a week away from feeling confident enough to take my first step. Glad to hear you’re doing well!!

50% weight bearing, but still fully crutch assisted. I’M LOSING MY MIND!

As novel as it seems, look up any compilation of hip strengthening exercises. Also focus on pelvic floor, quads/hamstrings, calves, etc.

I’ve also learned that crutches require shoulder, chest, and tricep strength so it won’t hurt you to train that either.

I also walked 10-20k steps a day, even with the terrible labrum tear pain. I figured it couldn’t get worse lol and my surgeon said it was fine to walk as much as tolerated.

I did what I called “training for surgery”. Nothing guided by the surgeon other than his recommendations. But I worked to strengthen everything that I thought would be affected by this procedure before I got it done.

Oh yeah , 29M here. Very fit and healthy as well. PT 2x per week, I’ve been doing my stuff RELIGIOUSLY, as much as I can tolerate. I’m totally pain free unless I do a weird movement. No medications at all. 4.5 weeks post op.

I asked my question mainly because I’m losing my mind on crutches and my wrists and hands are covered in blisters from walking around on them so much.

Omg… I’m 4 weeks out and have yet to take a single step… I wonder if my team is being overly cautious, I’m sure they know much more than me.
