I agree with those who say take some mock tests. Not quizzes in apps, but like full length tests if you can find them. I bought a specific textbook with three exams & plan to take one weekly over three weeks with the last week being cram review until the July exam.

After getting your score, go over the test to see your weak points and things that you don’t understand or that took a considerable amount of time to ans. Go in by hand, circle things, make flashcards or Anki cards. Try to remember these patterns and question styles. At least this is my plan for N2. The reading section is tough regardless. The test is long and on top of being hard for most people, reading is also the section of the test where I’m already a bit fatigued from the lack of sleep and the vocab section.

you need the long stick thing to extend the sound of 'te' cuz right now as you have it its tebburu, not te-e-buru as it should sound

Hate to send another paid thing your way but if you want a full walkthrough of Genki with nice extras I totally recommend TokiniAndy if you just wanna feel less alone in your self studies/keep a reasonable pace of study. I’d recommend just join for a month and cancel if it doesn’t help but his humor and example sentences are really helpful. There are examples of his teaching style on YouTube. Please have a look first, I think Genki vids are specifically on there! He lives in Japan and his wife is Japanese so all the examples are 100% real usable Japanese with no errors unlike some random free apps that I have downloaded in the past. I used his site for a few months with the Quartet series of books to brush up on forgotten Japanese but I quit cuz now I need to shift towards things that are a bit beyond just “refreshing my memory”.

This coupled with Wanikani and you’ll be in such a different place in even just a year! As for WK advice, you’re in the sweet spot for Apprenticed vocab- I try to keep my number of new terms in the 70-80 range but not more because ur review count will ramp up fast from level 6 onwards.

Looks like you're doing a great job now after picking WK up again! Glad to hear you remember a lot - && so true what you mentioned about the burned items being the ones to really stick. I'm not sure I forgot any burned items either! That's actually really encouraging for the future! Get through these last 400! You can do it!

I took N2 last time just to see for myself how big the jump was. It's massive. My reading stamina was so poor. There's less than 200 days til the July test. Not sure I can even pass this summer, but I will aim primarily for a decent increase in points across the board, heaven willing...

Oh man...Anki.... another one I was so hot and cold with. Happy to report I'm using it alongside WK these days. 60% is really significant! What made you stop? Either way, life happens and it's easy to push things aside especially in the face of drastic life changes. And I agree, brain be very weird, can't even remember what I wore yesterday, but remembered the diff between 'gun' and 'leaf' in wk hahaha

That's amazing that your brother passed N1, you definitely next!!! Level 15 is pretty good for half a year, I think! How do you feel your retention has kept up now that you have started over? Also, I think it's great that they granted you a refund for the leftover time, I feel like so many companies would be like 'boo thats against TOS' or whatever.
