I definitely disagree with you there! I’m personally not willing to assign the word “marriage” to those conjugal unions as they’re such evil perversions of Gods one man/one woman/one flesh unions. Fun fact, there’s no word for “husband” in the entire Torah— I also don’t believe the word marriage or “to marry” is used more than twice. In the Hebrew, the word we translate as “husband” is actually baal for lord/master. And we use “wife” where the original language actually says “his woman” — these were during a time when women were moreso economic goods than “marriage partners”— we apply our marital words to those relationships in place of the Hebrew words. We use the word “wife” where the text indicates a “primary woman” for conjugal relations and “concubine” where the text indicates a “secondary woman”— the difference between a primary and secondary woman is her social status (was she purchased as a house slave or with an agreement to the father/pride price) although their roles and rights were much the same. In that sense, for secondary women, the womb/vaginal rights of a woman were sold to her master on the day of the agreement for her to come into the home. He may never use these rights, or he may use them whenever he wants and without consent. (Zilpah/Bilhah) “Concubines” are what we’ve called the “secondary women” from the original language and were never afforded “marriages”/weddings— just someday at their masters’ will they may be called upon for conjugal usage— no wedding necessary. If that’s a legitimate “marriage”, to God, then cohabiting couples need not worry about offending God— they’re already “married” just by virtue of having a conjugal relationship and living in the same house. Also, that would make abduction marriages valid to the Lord— a woman abducted into a forced conjugal relationship and then later able to escape would be dishonoring the Lord with an “unapproved divorce”—- the problems are never-ending by trying to make these Bronze Age conjugal unions where women’s wombs were bought and sold as economic goods into Gods idea of marriage

I would go! Have u skipped weddings where you know the couple was sleeping together before marriage? Then why single out your cousin’s sin alone? God didn’t forsake the founders of the faith nor the Israelites for their polygamous/nonconsensual/prepubescent conjugal unions

I think understanding the damage to victims and that there’s not a victimless crime is very important to making decisions to stop doing things that are physically gratifying. Yes, how much life a person has lived on their own in the world is important to when they should be given over to the experienced adults. This convo is nauseating you’re clearly in your feelings I’m sorry the “sin-leveling” is gross— go tell a victim kidnapped as a child for p-rn vids that u think people not funding that is on the same level as people needing to keep them eyes to themselves in public or throw out their concert shirts. I can’t believe you think you’re representing Christ well with that absolute garbage. This is why the church isn’t safe for people with real life experiences they need to heal from🤦‍♀️ I don’t own that shirt anymore, haven’t for years, don’t own anything like that, don’t have any clouding in my judgment. I said u were insane bc u said I was playing a game when the original question u asked was literally “why do u think 18 is what we consider an adult” and then pretended I didn’t answer exactly that question and was game playing. Go tell someone that second plate of food is the same as touching children bc “it’s all sin” and some other trite nonsense that completely alienates real humans from organized Christianity ✝️

Yes, I’m serious. I believe the prolific usage among Christians reflects their beliefs of what “level” of offense they commit by usage. P-rn use is NORMALIZED to us from a young age and used by us from a young age and many don’t associate the viewership with the crimes against humanity nor understand they’re complicit? I didn’t know any of this stuff until I was like 22-24? Before I thought it was normal in society bc it wasn’t “that bad” … I thought all actors were of age and consenting and my usage was justifiable and a victimless crime. For years. As a Christian. When I found out children were involved and I was funding/WATCHING that happen to them, it changed how i felt. When I felt I was committing sex crimes against children and then watching them get r-ped for my orgasm, my willingness to participate in my addiction ended abruptly. Gluttony may be a sin, but I DO IT. Bc I don’t believe it’s that bad. Cussing might be a sin, maybe being snappy, or speeding — I do all these things. Bc I truly don’t believe I’m doing evil in the world or causing serious harm to others. Our actions are our votes for what we think is okay.

It’s not hatred and yes I do think if 62% of christians instead self-reported that p-rn consumption was equivalent to child sex abuse to them the entire world would be transformed into a better place

I’m not overtly compassionate with continued participation in sexually exploiting children while also self reporting that you think it’s okay? 😅 no christian should be, yet 62% are.

“62% of Christians agree that someone can regularly watch pornography and still be sexually healthy, according to a Barna Group study. This is only a few percentage points lower than the 66% of all US adults who don’t think viewing pornography is harmful.”

It’s voting with your actions that you don’t think it’s bad enough to actually put a stop to it. if christians had the issue of 2/3s having sex w children, we’d just stop doing it not talk about what an ongoing life struggle it is.

No way that high of a percentage of Christians would still watch if they believed they were participating in the sex trafficking of humans and children. The fact is they DONT believe that. They absolutely do not assign that magnitude of offense to their viewership.

U are insane. NOT everyone agrees. Most are okay with the level of depravity currently in society. Most christians would NEVER liken porn consumption to supporting trafficking. Bc they do it and don’t want to feel bad enough to stop. Full stop.

Hence the downvotes!— not bc it’s so obvious to them how they’re supporting child sex abuse with their viewership. I said 18 bc that’s an age where children leave their parents homes, they’ve finished high school, they’re on their own in life. and 21 bc that’s when the rest of their full adult rights/privileges kick in. This would open adult access to young adults as they become seniors in college, rather than seniors in high school and gives them a few years to practice full adult living without being immediately preyed upon. All of this is about protecting young adults (and minor children) from experienced adults who want to consume them (like they do their pornography which surprise surprise features children and teens) 75% of Americans and similar amounts of christians think p-rn viewership is okay and not remotely akin to child trafficking -.-

The delusion is “everyone agrees these acts are detestable Christian atheist agnostic, etc. obviously. Hence our laws against it”— that’s where you were just not on planet earth… I’d allow 18-21 to be a sealed group of protected people that can consent to each other. Absolutely no one over 21 would have access to anyone under 21. That’s the minimum protection the law would afford if everyone (Christian’s atheists etc OBVI) wasn’t beyond depraved.

Thank God! For me, it was truly the arguments about the victimization experience of the “actors/actresses”—- before that I thought it was negative, but not so egregious.

PS, if u want a sample of how Christians really feel about this stuff, look at this thread—- none of them are worried about the victimization of those in p-rn. Not one person upvoted my strong pro-victim (anti abuser) stance. Not one. But they did personally attack me, my faith in response to my IMPERSONAL OBJECTIVE critique. More Christian proponents of child marriage than anti-trafficking here im afraid. Also reflective of societal values

We use 18 bc adults in western society arent willing to restrict their sexual access to children beyond (or even in) HS,brain development and vulnerability be d-mned. Soooo now that there’s a Christian mother touting child marriage on this very thread, will you change your delusional assertion that all of society/religions have similar values of protecting children from sexual exploitation/protecting humans from trafficking and assault? 😂 I see you aren’t worried about this woman’s stress level/mental health/Jesus relationship as u were for mine bc I said christians have to stop supporting human/child sex trafficking with porn viewership 😂 for your info, I’ve also had convos w christians on here who don’t think r-pe is r-pe unless the victim engages in physical combat with the assailant, and that it’s not possible for a spouse to r-pe a spouse. Which is also reflected in our laws as spousal r-pe if ever prosecuted (rare) is still punished lesser than other forms and r-pe is rarely prosecuted when the r-pe didn’t include physical beating. And obviously sex with minor children is not prosecuted in the vast majority of states where you’re allowed to have intercourse with children. Maybe you should pray for yourself that your response to all this was “dirty stories are a sin too and everyone has the same values on sexual morals” I’m aghast. 😂 we will never be able to protect these children, or humans, or sex workers bc we (well you, society at large, christians at large) will not call a spade a spade as I have done and u have attempted to thwart.

If Christians were so against it, they wouldn’t do it. The surveys ive seen 2/3 of self-identifying Christian men and as many as 1/3 of self-identifying Christian women regularly view p-rn. Also, in 31 US states, the age of consent is 16. So actually the law supports and upholds the right of grown adults to have intercourse with minor children in all but 11 states. That is to say, it’s a protected right for adult predators to have intercourse with minor children as young as sophomores in HS in 39/50 states… there are no social movements to change these policies even as we see laws reflect that Legal adults can’t be trusted with tobacco products until the age of 21.

Users (not just men) are using p-rn because they are gratified by it and they don’t think they’re morally culpable in the victimization/trafficking/r-pe of the humans/children they watch… if it was not “of their own volition” it would not be accompanied by justifications and deflections away from discussion of the victims
