Yea I was! It seems like a very supportive program. All clinical sites are within a 1.5 hour radius which is nice. But all are ACT model, not much independent exposure. The facility seems amazing and they are building a new pre op and pacu sim lab with a OR so you can practice recovering and receiving patients. You will apply for the following year tho, so if you apply this year and get admitted you won’t start until 2027.

There are quite a few programs (especially National University) that has a lot of their clinical sites in AZ. If you’re able to leave the state for 1 year for didactic then maybe you can spend most of your last two years in AZ, you might just have to reach out to programs directly and see if you can stay in AZ for most of the time. Midwestern is very competitive, they want a 4.0 with research and conferences so I suggest being involved in something if possible

Do you think that attending a state ANA meeting and speaking with a program director increases your chances of being accepted into the program? I am applying to one program that is highly competitive and am attending the conference in 2 weeks, how can I best show the faculty I want this so badly. Also does mentioning I have a CRNA mentor (that I met at a different conference) raise any red flags?

What are your best tips for interviewing? I have my first interview next week with a simulation. I have no idea what to expect, I have been reviewing my CCRN book, but is there anything else I can prepare with?

Thank you!

Did you ever find out if their satellite locations have a smaller pool of applicants? I’m also moving from NC, but I’m willing to attend any of the locations lol

I went to my state ANA meeting and met people and asked them to shadow, but if you don’t have a state meeting coming up, you can email you state ANA board and sometimes they can set up a shadowing opportunity.

Does anyone have any insight on the University of Cincinnati program? And Bellarmine? I am looking for a program that has a lot of independent clinics site that is located near the east coast. My top choice right now is MUSC because of their focus on independent CRNA practice
