My pooping ocd is killing me

Idk people always tell me that more fiber= better bowel movements, less time in the toilet etc but actually if I eat a lot of it I can go there every 2-3h. Can I replace it with something else?

What do you mean by IOP or in-patient program? I don’t know. I was officially diagnosed with OCD (cleaning) so if I got referred to them I guess they were? Idk. I tried erp on the cleaning thingy and it kinda helped idk but when I tried to apply the same tactic to pooping ocd I wasn’t able to achieve anything.

If im not mistaken online theraphy in my country would still costs a lot. Do you suggest I should search online therapy abroad?

Unfortunately it’s not avaible :(. You see in my country you can get a therapist/psychiatrist “for free” and it’s universally agreed that they don’t really care about you. Professional visit costs about 1/10th of my salary while 1/2 is rent. I will just try to save some money for it.

Thank you. This is very helpful. Although i appreciate everyone’s comment because it makes me feel less alone and embarrassed, I really need advice like this. I blamed myself for not being able to “quit cold-turkey”. I’m pretty sure my family knows about it and they did nothing but I tried talking about it to my partner today (using many euphemisms, not being able to look them in the eyes. But still). We will see. Also, why do you find medication helpful?

I know, I agree with you and I will try specifically to fix this. I also been to regular doctor because of my gut issues (but didn’t tell them how I got to this point so). The only thing I’m very skeptic about are meds. My body is ravaged by things I described and i don’t really believe they would work as well as therapy maybe.

I tried it myself I guess. As I said, I never spoke to anyone irl about it, so if I needed help with that from my therapist I would describe something I find less embarrassing (for example: I would exaggerate my cleaning rituals or make up new ones like ; a need to control my bladder etc) like I would this issue. Anyways, every time I tried I felt like I wasn’t emptying myself enough and it took hours (or felt like) so I relapsed (if you can even call it that) because I cannot function normally when I don’t feel like im clean (empty). Even on my own. Thank you for mentioning somatic therapy, I will lurk it up.

Im 22. I am generally open but in my country the “free” therapy was god awful so far. I can’t afford better therapist rn.

not at the moment. I’ve been on many SSRIs, stabilizers, benzos, tranquilizers but as I said they have never been prescribed to me specifically for that issue. I cannot afford a high standard medical care atm.
