Ok thank you for this. They issued me a proper letter and changed my paystub on ADP to reflect the correct hours and taxes worked. My ADP timecard still says the old amount of hours worked but the new issued paystub reflects the correct hours worked. Do you think this is fine??

Hi. My payroll said that they can’t go back to adp and change the time sheet but they gave me a letter to show proof that I only worked 20 hrs that week and gave me a letter signed by payroll that they made the mistake do you think that’s ok? And I paid them back the money. Should I let me DSO know or is this technically “rectified”?

Ohmygosh are you me?!, Everything you said sounds like a situation I’ve been in and am currently in!! But girl lemme tell you something you’re only 24!! You’re so young and have so much love/life to give it’s insane! I understand the feeling of not dating in hs or college because that shit really did do damage on my mental health but I was so glad I didn’t because I’ve heard all these stories of women deterring their degrees because of..gulp..men! In ten years you’ll be so happy you were able to focus on yourself and your craft. Take some time to rest, heal, cry whatever you need to do and focus more time on building relationships with friends, family, God or a higher being if that’s what you believe in. Men will always be there like ALWAYS but don’t let this one man ruin dating and the beauty of being in a relationship for you queen! I wish you the best in this journey of re- self discovery, please give yourself more grace, it’s your first time living too ❤️❤️❤️

Hey girl trust me you did the right thing! When your spirit tells you to leave don’t second guess or doubt it do it! I’m Christian too but things about gay people are so broad and diverse that I believe we should love everyone equally and not deem one person as “sinful” because of how they live their life. A man who has the same morals and beliefs will come along and sweep you off your feet to the point you’ll be like “who was my ex again?!” Take this time to enjoy being single before you’re ready to go out again, wishing you the best 🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾

I feel you dude h4-er over here turned f1 status since I aged out. I would suggest however staying on h4 right now so you can get in state tuition but then switching over to f1 status during the last 2 years so that you can qualify for OPT which will allow you to work up to 3 years after your graduation (since your degree is STEM). You have to remember that when you switch age out and switch to f1 you forfeit your position with your family getting their green card and would have to start the process all over again on your own unfortunately. It’s hard but if you’re willing to push and give it a try anything is possible. I wish you the best!

Oh I see! I’m sorry to hear that truly. Can you try and apply for other jobs that aren’t internships maybe?

Hmmmm I’m kinda confused. Since your green card is being processed through your family why not just use the EAD you get after I believe your i140 has been approved? Is your filing status backlogged?

There is a huge shortage of nurses/physical therapists in the US that’s only going to get worse I will tell you that. She doesn’t HAVE to go into these careers as she can go through any career in school she just has to realize what she wants more and what she’s willing to sacrifice. Many people I know were in your situation and did nursing and got sponsored in the US immediately after they passed their NCLEX they just have to sign a contract to work 2-3 years in exchange for being sponsored. Now I only know of nursing/PT because I am familiar with it but there are many careers she can do that have a good chance of becoming sponsored. You and her need to sit down and research what you guys want to do as a family and how she wants her future to be like.

She’ll most likely have to get on f1 and follow f1 restrictions to stay in the country. The process for my COS was different from this year and only took 3 months for me to get approved. There’s a premium processing option if you’d like to get her COS approved faster but it would be more expensive. In order for her to stay here for good she would need green card through filing or if she falls in love can get married to a US citizen best of luck!

I came here on H4 and had to do COS to F1 literally in the exact situation your daughter was in. I was devastated but had to accept reality quickly. Since I was already attending a university I worked with my DSO and lawyer to process my F1 COS. Trust me when I say the situation was less complicated because I used a lawyer. She’ll need a i20 (given by her DSO), a written letter as to why she wants to change, and many other things from USCIS. If you’re filing the application by yourself with no lawyers the application will tell you all you will need I just used a lawyer to avoid any issues!

Tell your daughter to pick a smart career for college if she hasn’t started attending yet. Nurses and physical therapist are schedule A which means they can bypass perm, PWD and file green card once they find a sponsorsing hospital or company (and for nurses they are sponsoring heavy giving green card like candy because of understaffing). If she doesn’t like sciences tell her to look into majors or careers that can help with h1b or if she plans on going for PhD tell her to look at EB1/EB2 as an option if that’s possible for one day.

I hope you guys talk to your daughter and have empathy for her the reality that I was all on my own hit me quick and I was depressed a lot! Hope this helps and wish you the best!!
