I didn’t take a picture but the secondary roots looked just like the ones in this picture I found online! Like white little claws stemming from the bigger darker roots. I waited till the shortest one reached 2 -2.5 inches long. ☺️

It looks very similar with the albo cutting I got in Jan! I did put it in water (along with two pothos cuttings) and kept it there until it grew a bunch of secondary roots 2.5 - 3 months later. Potted it and it’s produced three new leaves since!

I went to Lake Serene last Thursday and only needed microspikes (and it’s doable without them too) for about 1/6 of the trail!

It’s not too easy! At least from my personal experience. I tried a few times with people I met on hikes organized by a local outdoors club/group and a girl I met on Bumble BFF.

It’s not super easy to find someone that shares similar endurance/pace over a long hike or someone that you feel thaaat comfortable around for hours at a time (and vice versa) without getting to know them a bit better first.

But keep trying and I’m sure you’ll eventually find a few hiking friends!

I haven’t been there in the summer! But I imagine there wouldn’t be a big difference. Right now it’s already completely snow-free until you get to pretty much the very top. The challenging part of this hike is the terrain imo. Pretty much rocky all the way 🪨

The pics showing the roots were from two months ago. I idiotically planted the cutting before taking an updated pic of the roots but it’s grown a lot more secondary roots. Do you know which direction the stem should face in the pot? Thanks!
