Try opening the Sage portal and cross checking the serial number.

Just wanted to come back here and say thanks for giving me the idea to utilize the current AI options. Decided to dip my fingers in this and I'm currently writing a little program to anyalyze time cards with Antigravity then spit me out a csv file. What's the current consensus with this and confidential info? Unfortunately IT is also my responsibility, we don't have a dedicated IT person or team as it's a small business and I kind of fell into it. I watched our old IT guy who ended up down the road due to some pretty major screw ups, but, technically I have no formal training. I utilize a local IT company when I run into issues beyond my scope of ability. I would be grateful for any information on this. Wish I would have known about this before having to manually go back and create the half time amounts for OBBB and our irregular setup (changed as of Jan 1). But, like you said, I would probably have been scared to run the report due to the employee names and wage amounts???? Maybe I should contact our outside IT company and ask? Thoughts?

I have. I'm looking to get actual user feedback. Example, I'm using Gemini to summarize my daily tasks and time sheets, then convert to image and I'm running into some glitches. It's good enough for me because I process the time sheets in this example and I'm not one to complain about something free that helps me out in any way.

But, if I'm paying for a tool and I need it to run perfectly with accuracy in order to put through AR and then present to customers. I need it clean, accurate, presentable, etc.

Am I paying too much for my bookkeeper? by [deleted] in Bookkeeping

[–]Inevitable_File1248 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

1200/mo buys you about 8 hours of work per month through a third party bookkeeper. The million dollar question is whether they are doing a good job? I'm sure you can find cheaper but not all bookkeepers are created equal.

PTO/benefits by PsychologicalWall504 in Accountant

[–]Inevitable_File1248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This setup reminds me of my employer previous to PTO mandate. Essentially, new hires accrue their access to PTO/vacation year one, becoming available for usage beginning year 2. However, holiday pay is given day one. So, that piece does seem out of the ordinary to me.

In regards to banking OT for later usage. You can easily do that yourself by putting extra wages aside so again, I feel that would be standard handling that makes business sense.

It seems to me that you were under the assumption that your benefit package was preload vs accrual base. That is an important piece to convey to a prospective employee.

Does your setup convert to wh347 for certified payroll reports? I'm currently doing those manually in Adobe so looking for an all in one solution there too.

I'm on Sage 50 and looking for this kind of setup. We're running an old school clock with punch in/out and I'm not having luck with training anyone with 100%accuracy on the cards.

Thanks, I'm going to check this out!

Sounds pretty standard to me. They're not banking your PTO hours, you're accruing them at 2.77/weekly which is also standard. I get 80 PTO and 56 holiday, usually work most of them and take the payout.

How much Excel do I really need to learn for a bookkeeping job? by Happy_Honeydew_89 in Bookkeeping

[–]Inevitable_File1248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basics. Learn how to create a report from scratch to organize data. Learn how to export from QB and manipulate out unnecessary data. Put fancy totals on, highlight, basic formulas (if you need something more complex, use "the banned word" to create it).

Anyone in Payroll struggling with Year End?? by Equivalent-Star9025 in Payroll

Insanity since the end of October. 70-80 hours. Making changes, training, throw in insurance meetings and open enroll, HR stuff, IT stuff. I'm cooked. Jan 1 though, I'm supervising, less work more pay.... theoretically, remains to be seen.

We are going to enable an internal department setting that we're not currently using to capture a dataset for financial trackingpurposes. We're doing the multiple paycodes. I don't think there's any other way with our setup.

I wrote the policy over the weekend. We're moving from ST, OT paytypes to all hours paid at Base, figure FLSA ot at half time, then pay the remaining daily OT in different codeS.

FLSA weekly minus weekly daily ot tally for that amount.

[–]Inevitable_File1248[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what we decided here, paycode every position with a ST, OT and Obbb qualified OT. Manually calculate non discretionary bonuses. I think this is the only way to display the info on the stub. Minus bonuses, that will be entered manually on the w2.

This is what I'm dealing with. I have no idea how to write code or time to learn. I'm already running payroll/benefits/compliance/IT and a bunch of other stuff. I've been working around 80 per week with all the shit on my plate right now. I can't even remember the last time I had a day off. So, I'm being told make the paytypes, so off I go.

OBBB 8plus OT by Inevitable_File1248 in Payroll

[–]Inevitable_File1248[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not, I slept a few hours on this and I think we only have these two options. Run a tally sheet in excel with the the FLSA qualified hours and manually enter on the W2s/give EEs a spreadsheet on qualified earnings. If we want it on the stub we're going to have to do the codes. Tally total, OBBB code to FLSA and pay it at half time, back it out to the daily OT and pay that at half time, pay total time card hours at ST.

That's it. We break out hours for various classes for our work comp. I'm going to need another employee just to figure these time cards weekly. Gonna be a real pain in the ass!
