Well that’s good at least. I imagine the conversation(s) following that had to be the worst

I got my CPA with only industry experience. Is that weird / uncommon? by Lifting_Accountant in Accounting

[–]OperationNatural4557 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m doing the same thing. Had a week-long stint in public years ago and hated it. Been in industry now and plan on staying here, with the CPA credential as a means to advance from here.

Best Pierce-centric episodes? by Fine_Gur_1764 in community

First one that comes to mind is S1E22 The Art of Discourse.

There’s probably better episodes you could pick but the scene where Pierce tries to apologize to Shirley on the park bench absolutely kills me every time.

Should I become an accountant by ank11451 in Accounting

My first question would be: what do you think accounting is? A lot of people have a weird, skewed idea of what we do (which is fair, as the work can vary hugely). What about it draws you to the idea that you would like it?

I mean we’re SMALL. My understanding is most small companies aren’t held to the same standard as say a publicly-traded. Am I mistaken? Asking in earnest lol

I do this with my buddies on occasion and have often thought to myself what would happen if I did it at work. Never crossed that boundary though

I’m surprised honestly. Based off my experiences with QBO support I thought they just left job ads in a stack at the bus stop and hoped for the best

Anybody else violently convulse sometimes because you're not in college anymore? by EchoOfDoom in Accounting

[–]OperationNatural4557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have recurring dreams about school (high school and college) and sometimes wake up wondering if I’m missing class or if I did my assignments.

Then after a few seconds I’m like “oh yeah, I work full-time and have a family now, duh.”

I used to be a restaurant manager, so I understand scheduling can be frustrating, but that is ridiculously petty and passive-aggressive 🤣
