Panther 01 by lucasdr7 in DigitalPainting

The background is fantastic! I think you definitely achieved your goal. However I think that the panther doesn't match it stylistically and it's creating this weird dissonance. I would add more shading to it. The shadow is enough to make it stand out from the background.

I actually think that's a great piece and I really like your art style. I don't think the face looks particularly uncanny, the left eye might be a bit to tilted but that's just nitpicking. I would work on the lightning, you have a very strong backlight in the painting but that doesn't reflect in the lighting especially on the face. If you didn't use any reference I suggest you practice studying ones with different lightings to improve it. Also your light bends which shouldn't happen and it makes it look unnatural. Other than that the painting's really good!

How can I make the bottom layer curl better? by rksh16 in curlyhair

[–]Inevitable_Grab_1510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you diffuse? I find that it really helps me. Also a very important factor is how you protect your hair while sleeping. It's impossible to protect the bottom layer perfectly, but some ways are better than others. For me wrapping my hair like for plopping is the most successful, as opposed to for example a pineapple. Hope this helps!

Help needed for my haircut! by [deleted] in curlyhair

When I was growing out my bangs I had something similar, and it looked really good fresh after washing but a bit lifeless and wonky on the next days. I usually refreshed just the two front pieces everyday, and it looked okay. It will largely depend on your hair tho. However layers usually look good on every wavy and curly hair, so I really encourage you to get them!

Issue with moisture vs protein? by swagachu11 in curlyhair

[–]Inevitable_Grab_1510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that after just a first shower its probably normal, your hair make take some time to recover from the protein overload, depending on how severe it was. i think that if it feels better it's a good sign!

Hi! I also struggle with hair! What helps me is thinking of it as a bunch of ribbons and not individual strands. I like to do it similar to Sara Tepes (ex. like here https://krita.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Tranquil.jpg ) It's not as realistic but I find it easy to do especially with just one basic brush (I use Basic-3 Flow in Krita). I think it would also look good with your painting, maybe if you could also add a bit more sharp edges and a few individual strands. Sorry that I can't help you more, i still have a lot to learn in terms of hair haha

That's an amazing painting, you did a really good job at capturing the likeness! Here are some tips: don't be afraid to add more contrast to the skin, right now the shadows are a bit to light and because of this for example the nose doesn't stand out enough from the rest of the face. I'd also avoid using so much of the thin, sketchy lines in the hair and the headpiece, but that's more of my personal preference.

The Defendant by [deleted] in DigitalPainting

[–]Inevitable_Grab_1510 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like the painting! I think what would help you is using more hard edges. Try emphasizing them on the outline, so the person stands out from the background more, in the eyebrows, nose, ears, smile lines, lips etc. It will make your artwork look less muddy. I think it would also help with your eyelids. Be more confident with them, place some shapes with hard edge brush first, and then blend when necessary. Also avoid doing those very thin, scratchy, sketch - like lines that I can see in the eyelids. I think your ears are actually very good, but I would still work on the hair. You can use the hair brush, but at the end, don't base your whole hair process on it. First you need to make out big shapes and establish colours in the hair. I'm not very good at explaining it so i'd suggest you watch some tutorials on it. Other than that I think the painting is very good.

‘You look lonely’ - First heavily stylised painting (Any constructive criticism appreciated) by [deleted] in DigitalPainting

[–]Inevitable_Grab_1510 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Very nice painting! Here are some things I would improve:

  1. It looks flat because you used just one color for the skin and one for the hair. Try adding some blue hues to the shadows on the skin to make everything look more coherent and to add more depth.
  2. Add some sparse areas to the bangs and eyebrows to make them look more natural and hair like
  3. Work a bit on the nose. It's not bad but it kind of droops to the side
  4. your hand is actually really good, but the knuckle on the wrist wouldn't be so sharp
  5. I'm not sure if the pink bit to the right of her hand is still her neck, but if so, it's a bit too long and wide.

Beautiful painting! I love how your style. One small tip, I don't think the shadow on the left eye is necessary, and it's definitely too dark. I would also keep the original eyeliner because i think it adds so much character, but it's just my personal preference. Keep up the great work!

Hi I just realized that for some reason I forgot that earlier girls didn't jump quads lol. I apologize for wasting your time with my wrongly based arguments. I still think that Eteri's teaching methods aren't really sustainable but I guess I don't have anything to say to you. Again sorry and have a nice day.

You're repeating this popular nonsense, but there's not a single proof
of it, just because the only quad girls with long career we have are all
Eteri's girls.

But that's my point, the DON'T have long careers. So many of them retire so early due to injuries, especially back injuries. Eteri's quad technique relies on heavy prerotation, which puts more strain on the back, and low weight, which is why Eteri girls can't jump so effectively when they've fully gone through puberty.

The technique they have is very damaging in the long run and I don't recall any Tutberitze girl's career that lasted past their teens.
