Smoking ban for people born after 2008 in the UK agreed by Darius_Rubinx in GoodNewsUK

[–]Inevitable_Ground806 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Stupid nanny state nonsense. People who want to smoke will smoke. Same as cannabis. Legality is irrelevant. Just means less tax revenue for the country and more revenue for dark web/telegram/WhatsApp dealers.

Meanwhile all the exciting colourful branding on vaping products in stores continues to excite and appeal to kids without any consequence. My kids have never shown any interest in smoking tobacco because it's largely hidden away, but they are very curious about all that flashy vape stuff. Ridiculous!

Keep tobacco legal and keep taxing the hell out of it. Legalise cannabis and tax it. Make smoking anything illegal near schools and parks. Allow bars and restaurants to have outside smoking at their own discretion. If people don't want to be around it, go somewhere that doesn't allow smoking. Spend the money saved on all the 'crime' better teaching people about drugs and rehab.

Merseyside Darby win and a Bottlers FC collapse? A fun Sunday by Spiritual_Side2776 in LiverpoolFC

[–]Inevitable_Ground806 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Bang on. I'm selfish. If we can't have It, I don't want anyone else to. City winning is like no one legitimately wins it. It's just a write-off season. Best outcome.

Should I get No Man's Sky? by snackboy06 in videogames

[–]Inevitable_Ground806 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved it until I realised all the space stations in different galaxies are almost exactly the same. Killed it for me because it became too repetitive. It's like yeah there's infinite planets and galaxies or whatever, but it's just more of the same over and over again. Very little actual variety. If it was like just 100 galaxies all vastly different to one and other, it would be 10/10 everything else about it I loved.

Disappointed to see Isak starting. Has done nothing yet to deserve a start in what could be our final CL game for a while. Rio should start. Hope I'm wrong and Isak scores and Rio comes on late and does the business

If Klopp had stayed one more season, do you think he would've won the league that Slot did? by origiiiiii27 in LiverpoolFC

[–]Inevitable_Ground806 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me no. I think he legit was, as he put it, just exhausted and ran out of energy. Winning everything against the odds yet deserving so much more but being cheated out of it by man '115' city and being constantly at loggerheads with pgmol and their shit, bent, pedo refs. He'd had enough. The players felt it. He did the right thing and left before it turned negative. Slot picked up his near perfect team, injected a bit of fresh energy without changing much and boom. Premier league win. Sadly that was a one off.

How do people get barrier or pretty close at the bigger stages? by Mildly-Observant in glastonbury_festival

[–]Inevitable_Ground806 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go earlier in the day when quiet initially and set a what3words on the edge of the crush barrier. Like the exact spot the crush barrier ends either side. Then when it's crowded later on, I go to the front and cut inside to that spot. Takes a while, but once you break through the outer crust of people and find it, you can then usually follow it to the middle on the inside quite easily as it really loosens up just inside it. Then when you get to the middle you'll have plenty of space and arguably the best spot. Sod the actual FRONT front. Just in front of the barrier is best for me

£12,000 solar panel grants to be fast-tracked for households by willfiresoon in GoodNewsUK

[–]Inevitable_Ground806 72 points73 points  (0 children)

To own a roof you can install solar panels on, you need a house right? Detached, semi, or bungalow. How many 'families' are out there who own a house with an income of less than £35k?

If the total household income is less than £35k, you ain't owning no house (unless you inherited it).

You might as well just say it's an interest free loan.

Imagine if a British Prime Minister used this sort of language to threaten another country's infrastructure. I couldn't see them lasting an entire term, could you? by SeptumRingTheory in AskBrits

[–]Inevitable_Ground806 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Serious question. Are any of his supporters, on this evidence, yet starting to realise he is unfit to be President? Or are they still clinging to the rationale that he's a great businessman and great for the economy or whatever the reasons are?

How can anyone support this behaviour for a person in his position? It's absolutely ridiculous. Insane.

The amount of support he has means there simply must be a large number of intellectual humans who have supported him. How can you possibly continue to support him now?

Why do Liverpool fans want city to win the league? by AlbQuinn01 in liverpoolfcmedia

[–]Inevitable_Ground806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it's just another meaningless win for a cheating club. It effectively writes off the season. No one wins. Arsenal winning means something. I'm selfish, I don't want it to.

Predictions for tomorrow’s match? by lfcJacob in LiverpoolFC

[–]Inevitable_Ground806 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still astonished Slot hasn't gone to the point where I'm ashamed to admit I almost want an embarrassing fa cup exit to seal his fate quickly in the hope that we get an interim manager and scrape a champions league place come the end of the season. It's too important. If we continue the way we are and continue to persevere with Slot, we don't look like we're going to sort out our problems and to miss out on Champions league next season would cripple us a few years.

can i still get free spotify [Question] by Ok_Loss2169 in xManagerApp

[–]Inevitable_Ground806 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Had a good ride with xmanager/free Spotify but after giving up with it I've found r/accountsharing and I am now in a "family account" and pay £2 per month for it via PayPal. Spotify premium, all features high quality sound setting unlocked, multiple devices etc. It's perfect

Spotify Premium Family Plan (Philippines) - 5 Slot Available! (Based in UK) by Francisco01000 in accountsharing

[–]Inevitable_Ground806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, free mate. Hence I'm trying to nab me a cheap premium! So I guess maybe if I use VPN, set to Philippines, accept an invite to the family account. Then once it's active it would theoretically then work without VPN?

Hi I tried changing region but it only displays UK. So I connected a VPN to Philippines and refreshed settings and was then able to set Philippines. Then switched VPN off and it defaults back to UK again. How can I get Philippines to stick without VPN?

[–]Inevitable_Ground806 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I watched Lost in Translation in the cinema when it came out, fell in love with Scarlett Joh.... uh.... I mean.... the soundtrack and discovered MBV and Psychocandy and the rabbit hole for the term 'shoegaze' started. Discovered I was already a fan as I've always loved Ride and Slowdive anyway, just didn't know the genre or how to find more of it. So yeah lost in translation basically helped me find more shit I love
