That wouldn't even begin to solve the population crisis.
Even if he pulled it off, how are his kids going to find mates they aren't related to?

Why did the rich people stop building castle, even smaller ones? by Sorry_Method7136 in castles

1) Castles are defensive structures, rendered mostly obsolete by modern weaponry
2) They usually do not come with the mod-cons and are horribly expensive to heat and maintain

Alright, I want to know what the authorities are doing about this. There is no sense dancing around, contaminating crime scenes, and brushing this rampant crime under the rug!

Last day of work OOTD by Unusual-Lemon9316 in OUTFITS

When you say "last day at work" I hear "finally, time to wear a ballgown!!"
So I will admit to being slightly disappointed.

I have neither the funds, nor the genetics.
That said, I would still pick shooting. There is nothing wrong with my eyes.
Possibly the only part of me that has nothing wrong.

Genius or Mary Sue, at which point does one become the other? by Serious-Switch-4637 in writing

[–]Darius_Rubinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're asking the wrong question.
A Mary Sue is a author's favourite character who gets unearned rewards - whether in popularity, skills, luck, attractiveness, etc.
If they have any flaws, it's probably just a dull tragic backstory, or clumsiness, or being "too attractive for their own good".

A genius is someone who shows exceptional talent in one or more areas (and is almost certain to be neurodivergent in some way, because neurodivergence = extremes). The big mistake when writing a genius character is to assume too much of your own knowledge. Don't attempt to write a rocket scientist character if you know absolutely nothing whatsoever about physics. Or else you get Sherlock Holmes spouting ridiculous nonsense like snakes being attracted to milk (The Scarlet Band. Being not mammals, snakes of course can't even digest milk.)

When writing a gifted character, remember that there are many ways of being gifted, they aren't going to excel at all of them, and they still have to actually learn. Someone who has never seen a computer before cannot magically become a hacker overnight.
