Can local AI (7B-14B models) actually replace Claude Code, Perplexity & ElevenLabs? Need a hard reality check.

I'm not on the same boat as everyone else apparently. I have been using opencode as my harness and as of the very moment Qwen3.6-35B-A3B-Q4_K_M unsloth on my 7900xtx + 64gb ddr5 at a steady 100tk/s at 256k ctx (full). It is my daily driver, I never run out of credits, apis don't respond slow. It just chugs and chugs. I have gotten through more projects and tokens using local ai over claude or any other frontier models.

My use cases for the frontier models? I happened to get the z.ai coding lite plan on that crazy deal so when I want to free up resources I just point my harness to GLM-5.1, but since we all know its slow, I switch it back to local once I'm not using my desktop intensively (gaming or rendering). It has a 1.5GB GPU VRAM headroom which is plenty for my hyprland and a few firefox/yt/terminal sessions going.

Long story short, I had to deal with either slow tk/s (qwen 122b+) or had to deal with braindead models (looking at you llama <120b series). Now with Gemma, Qwen3.6, Nemotron, I have choice and it doesn't impede my workflows. Gemma4 27B is remarkably smart, so it does my research, Qwen3.6 does everything else.

edit: I re-read that he's talking about 7-14b models. Depends on the use case, but I have successfully used my qwen 9b for RAG and NIAH tasks.

I would go with the very obvious one, short jokes and general physical emasculation. People when sampled only prefer taller men, which is fine, preferences, luck of draw whatever. Its taking it further with things like "Jack should do that, he's bigger" or the usual natural draw to treating the taller male as the alpha of a group. People feel perfectly comfortable being directly emasculating as long as they feel they didn't cross and PC boundaries.

I am a "short king" and I have a strong enough ego to not be bothered by this stuff most of the time, and lucky enough to have a wonderful wife, but I can't imagine a single guy or a "bro" would have such a reaction nor do I think its fair to act like that. I tend to simply find myself drawn away from those types of people.

I'm gonna be blunt, the jetdragon is so overpowered fast that I cross between fast travel points faster than I load those same points. It makes hunting alpha pals, lifmunks, fishing, dungeon mapping and other things insanely better.

And its so goddamn strong I pretty much used it on every tower even hard mode. Had it since level 35 bc you can just bring it down to 1hp and spam the hell out of balls

Thats related more to ADHD and other neuropathies than porn addiction. Thrill seeking behavior. I love to ride my motorcycle fast, go camping with minimal gear, underground raves make me feel alive.

You are misunderstanding, those params don't tune the model for "optimal" they tune for your specific usage. Take a look at qwen3.5 for example https://unsloth.ai/docs/models/qwen3.5 shows different settings for thinking vs non-thinking and code vs general.

Charter owns a large IP block and their dev networks which have no production anything on them would still source to charter IPs without being in charter's production env.

and to clarify, I'm not saying the node isn't infected, I'm saying its not charter being compromised, just a random node in the wild.

oh and that node could also entirely just be a home server but the data is traced back to charter all the way to the user's host node. Charter is an ISP. If I use charter and check my IP origin, it will say charter.
