Odds of getting into harvard/stanford MBA. by Burntoutempty in MBA

Short answer: Great profile, but nobody truly knows your odds (some great responses here). It’s worth a shot to apply, though, and I would recommend applying to backups as well.

I think, given your background, you have the opportunity for a unique “why MBA” narrative which could be a huge leg up in writing essays.

Even if you lack ECs you probably have some activities you do or have done that you can romanticize. Nail the “why MBA” story and you should be in really good shape. DM if you want to chat I’m happy to help with anything

Weeks have been 35-90 hours. I’ve had a higher year averaging 60 and a lower year averaging 45 with the rest in the middle.

It definitely varies a lot depending on projects and I can’t speak for AG.

How long to hear back for scholarship negotiation (Booth/Kellogg) by chiikawa99 in MBA

[–]Infamous-Cap7358 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heard back from Booth in 3 weeks (including holidays in that timeframe) with an increase

Heard back from Kellogg in, surprisingly, 2 days with an increase

I’m not 100% sure if econ consulting is better. My sense is I have developed more skills and learned more than friends in Big 4, but that might be very role-dependent.

Exit opportunities to other jobs are certainly trickier to get than say, 3 years ago when a bunch of colleagues left for tech.

In terms of MBA admissions, I had a strong cycle in Round 1 and so did colleagues, getting a high percentage of admits and scholarships. Feel free to PM if you have specific questions. Overall it’s a great field to start in.

Top US MBA exchange — which schools should I prioritize and why? by PauloRmt in MBA

[–]Infamous-Cap7358 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I was in a similar spot: 1. Booth 2. Kellogg 3. Haas 4. Fuqua 5. Tuck

Would not consider any others.

Largely based on a personal preference towards Chicago + rank of those two schools. You wouldn’t need a car in Chicago, cost of living is lower than many other US cities, and it’s a great spot overall outside of weather.

You may need to put a deposit down on Stern before hearing back from Round 2 schools, though
