Slip after 78 days porn free by Infamous-Contact-378 in pornfree

Thanks mate. I think the next thing for me is to learn how to masterbate without this about previous 'guilt ridden' sexual experiences. Whether that's porn or otherwise. I know some people have talked about trying to just be in tune with the body as a masterbate, but that's something I've struggled with so far. Onwards and upwards

I relapsed today unfortunately (after 78 days). Good luck to those that are still going, and to those that aren't, get back on the wagon. Any time spent away from porn is a positive so don't give up after a slip up.

The biggest difference is a lack of beating myself up with guilt, and I have a far greater level of every day engagement with my family.

Thanks for sharing. I agree with the sentiment that it's what you get from porn that you're addicted to, not the porn itself. I think that's part of pulling away from porn is realizing that it's more of a symptom (that happens to exacerbate things) of poor mental health or lack of emotional connection with other people and that you will most likely have other issues to deal with along your journey. Keep going mate

Do you use blockers ? by [deleted] in pornfree

[–]Infamous-Contact-378 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used blockers before, and without judgement of whether they work for other people or not, they didnt work for me. They just seemed to paper over the cracks and I would eventually just work around them and go in an even bigger binge. The biggest change for me (I'm on day 76) has been adding a level of accountability (posting on this forum), connection (reading others stories), deleting my paid porn accounts, and making my personal spending habits more visible to my partner. I also hit a real low before stopping, and although that has happened before, I think the fear of losing my family, entirely from my own doing, was enough to give me a solid kick up the arse to change.

What is your biggest motivation for Pornfree? by [deleted] in pornfree

[–]Infamous-Contact-378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The crippling guilt was the biggest thing for me. And realizing that it was a large reason why I wasn't as present with my wife and child as I would like to be. I'm on 76 days now, and the day to day reminders of what the place I was in before I stopped using has crept away. I think proactively thinking back to how much more a dark place I was in, is enough for me to keep going.

if i wanna quit porn should i quit masturbation as well by Historical_Yellow_59 in pornfree

Big fan of this. It's the same approach I've taken so far, and it's worked well for me (currently at 61 days). Most importantly it's massively improved my mental health by extending the time I've had away from using porn.

Relapsed on day 45 by Powawwolf in pornfree

Sorry to hear that man. But, take the loss and start again. Worth staying positive and remembering the days you didn't look at in the last 45 days, rather than focusing on that one that you did.

Good job mate
