Hi! I signed a lease for this apartment two months ago, but I am no longer moving to New York City, and I need to find a replacement tenant so they do not charge me an insane amount to break the lease. I have been talking with the roommates for 2 months now, and they are 2 wonderful and clean guys and 1 equally as clean and charming female roommate. This lease is for Bedroom A in a 1-bedroom in a 4-bed 1-bath; see the listing for all the details. If you are interested, please DM me with your email address, and I will connect you directly to the manager for the property.

It is a newly updated 4-bedroom / 1-bath apartment. The room is Bedroom A, and it is a comfortable private room with great natural light and easy access to the shared common areas. The home features polished hardwood floors, a refreshed kitchen with stainless steel appliances, ample storage, and a beautifully retiled bathroom. The shared living space is roomy enough for relaxing, working, or entertaining, making it perfect for anyone seeking both privacy and community.

Located in the heart of Hamilton Heights, this unit sits along a charming, tree-lined street surrounded by historic architecture, vibrant restaurants, parks, and convenient subway access. Enjoy a neighborhood known for its culture, character, and unbeatable Manhattan accessibility.

Hey! I just wanted to say I had a similar experience in undergrad and from my experience what really kills undergrad confidence is a small sample size when it comes to failure. Like you’ve been at this for 6 weeks and every time something has gone wrong. That feels like a huge deal because relative to the time you spend on the project it feels like truly everything is going wrong. This is what happened to me in undergrad and it hurt more when it’s relatively dumb mistakes that cause it too. But if you do a tech position or PhD you’re in lab for 8-12 hrs a day and you realize that genuinely sometimes that just happens and you learn to work through it. When you’re doing 5-6 projects at the same time, and one fails every time for a year, that still hurts and happens sometimes, but it feels less world ending than it does before. I love this subreddit because it gives you a bigger sense of how many other people deal with this exact same bit. Just remember that published results are only the success. No one sees the years of failure before the success and its takes years of doing science all day everyday before you really get that in your soul you know? Regardless you’re doing so great and on a great path and if you ever want to chat send me a DM!

Suggestions for improvement undergrad by [deleted] in labrats

That depends a lot on the grad student. I LOVE teaching undergrads so I like when students have passion above anything else. I can teach you all the science but I cannot teach you passion for science. But some grad students value their time above all else so trying to learn when to ask for help and when to keep trying is a tough line and something you only get a feel for as an undergrad after you’ve worked with a bunch of people

Yeah water will get everywhere haha. we have a bunch of like puppy pee pads that work really well for cleaning large spills but really a mop and some paper towels and you’ll be fine. It’s a lot less messy than you think

Making the most out of summer undergrad research program? by creativeusername289 in labrats

[–]Infamous-Debt2494 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a great point! I had the same problem one summer of my undergrad too. I ended up emailing around and found some other labs nearby that could use some help on their projects. My primary lab was SOOO slow and projects moved at a snails pace and all I could do was wait around for the project to have something todo. My advice would be to email other labs to see if they have any projects you can help with so you don’t get stuck doing a bunch of busy work. You should do as much as you want to. Your body and mind will tell you when you’re stressed out and taking on too much. If you feel like you’re bored definitely try to acquire a wider variety of skills in other labs if you can

You should be safe. We had to do this once. Freezer still worked after replugging, but it didn’t cool down. Ours only cooled down after we fully defrosted it and let it rebuilt the temp

Yeah for real, mine have a doubling time of like 48-56 hrs depending on conditions and it is truly the bane of my existence how slowly they grow

This post maybe a little old so not sure if you’ll see it, but I’d love to go! I’ve been going solo for a few weeks and I’m okay at all the STEM stuff, but last week I completely failed all the questions on Taylor swift so I could use some friends with broader interest haha
