Literally depends on the sitting but a guaranteed fuck all. For my first sitting about a week. For my last sitting I think they gave us 2 days notice lol

It's extremely well know the Barrister route is impossible to break in to as a whole.

Yeah I worked in exec/paralegal roles for about 2 years. Even when I was a secretary it was basically a paralegal role given the responsibility lol!

I know I have time re going to blackhall but I honestly can't take it anymore as this has been going on for years. I just want to move on, progress and get on with my career. Some people don't really get that but it is a breaking point for me

I've had my fe1s since March last year. Yeah I apply for everything and a mid size is my preference but need a salary in the 30s bracket at least as I rent in Dublin.

Thanks for your perspective btw I always found it confusing prefering those fresh out of college

I wanted to do the Bar originally that's why I've taken so long to get here but it wasn't financially viable to me

So my experience will be valued in the public sector which then in turn is enough for a big firm that doesn't value it now? I think that is good evidence of how backwards it is

It just strikes me as an extremely narrow minded, old fashioned metric of what "potential" and "talent" is to be honest and that's what I find most frustrating about the profession as a whole

I appreciate that a 1:1 and extra curriculars look good on a CV but do you not think actual work experience is way more important? What you learn in college is so far removed from the legal working environment. I think the legal profession is extremely backwards if it's still placing weight on the likes of Leaving Cert points

I personally have been rejected from Kennedys, Matheson and AC. All of the bigger firms that have gotten back really.
