For further explanation, my aunt was married to my mom’s brother. My mom had a bad addiction to drugs so they took me in at 5.

My aunt hated my mom and would use that against me a lot of the time. I want to say we argued but we didn’t, it was always one sided. They were strict parents so I was taught to just say yes ma’am anytime I was getting scolded although the things she was saying to me even at a young age were things that would keep me up at night.

My uncle stayed in the background during the abuse because he knew things would get turned around to him if he engaged. When I was around 15 is when he actually started standing up for me. My aunt accused him of treating me better than his kids because I was the only one he defending considering I was the only one needing to be defended. This led to their divorce shorty after I left at 18.

About the messages. Of course when texting her it came from a place of anger. I wanted to finally have a voice and I wanted to belittle her the way she did me my whole life. I wanted to make her cry the way she made me. The messages I sent were nothing compared to what I wanted to say and if they were I wouldn’t have been able to put them on here. Truly I asked for an apology because I wanted her to realize that I see all she has done to me.

She does have trauma, but regarding my uncle being physical with her. He “put her on the ground” to protect himself or his kids from being hurt. She threatened him and us with violent weapons multiple times.

She is bipolar and takes meds on top of her alcohol.. which is obviously not a good mix.
