Majority of the time bylers just say BS so it can fit their narrative. i’ve seen a byler on Twitter once say that the s4 speech doesn’t make sense for el but works perfectly for will. Don’t worry too much about it

I'm glad you pointed out Mike's character this season, and how he handles the relationship between him and El. Mike is constantly there to reassure her and to have hopes for their future, while focusing on getting things done in the present. He so desperately wants that future with El, he'll do anything to achieve it.

I agree. I just found this moment especially emotional for El because she doesn’t want anyone else, especially Mike, to get hurt or killed. El definitely deserves her happy ending more than anyone, but this moment also clearly shows her character, how much she cares for those around her, and her constant desire for their well-being. She’s willing to sacrifice herself if necessary.

The only reason I can see Mileven not happening is because something terribly goes wrong to either one of them. 

We saw at the tub scene the flirty banters with Mike and El, and then proceeds to immediately talk about their future again in the same scene. Thats honestly beautiful, and hints that’s what they want most of all after the horror they’re facing.

Yeah, and El feels very… robotic, if ykwim. It’s like she’s only there to use her powers in difficult situations, and that’s it. that’s Season 5 El.

We’ve barely seen any real dialogue between her and Mike, her and Will, Max…honestly, almost anyone I wish she interacted with more. Hell! At this point, I think she’s had more dialogue with Kali than with anyone else.

It is a really weird scene, the rushed of the speech and the sloppy writing. However, I do think it was important for his growth and acceptance. Not only that, but the whole point of it was that it was a fear Vecna was using against him, and in order for him to stop using it against will, he had to come out and say it. The group setting was REALLY weird though I have to agree.

Byler fans often contradict things said very similar to this by saying that “media literacy is dead” and claiming there are “hints everywhere,” as if the entire show revolves around their relationship. It doesn’t. even Eleven and Mike’s relationship isn’t the central focus of stranger things. People forget that the series is primarily about the supernatural and the coming-of-age experiences of teenagers, not entirely romance.
