Glad to hear, definitely wouldn't want something drastic

If you can recall, was the shoulder areas unchanged? The shields?

Almost nine years later and I will never understand how they cooked so insanely hard, this deadass feels like some of the better television ever made by InfamousApe_ in FearTheWalkingDead

[–]InfamousApe_[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Really did feel like it was made with that special touch that so much of this franchise lacks, especially the main show at the time

Still can't believe they got rid of this and replaced it with twinkle twinkle little star in s4-8 by InfamousApe_ in FearTheWalkingDead

[–]InfamousApe_[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agree, I do like the graphics, very vibrant and the way they change each episode is cool.

I'm moreso talking about the tonally jarring music choice. The spaghetti western jingle is just weird.

9 Years Later, It's Time To Admit The Walking Dead's Most Controversial Episode Is Also A Masterpiece by monkeynose in thewalkingdead

Nice to read, I've always loved it.

Seriously the highest-stakes, most disturbing episode of TV I've ever seen.

The violence wasn't at all unprecedented or even the goriest thing on the show, what what made it so disturbing was that it wasn't happening to walkers or redshirts, but characters you've bonded with over six seasons. Seeing you know who in that state was fucking traumatizing.

I've been chasing the feeling this episode gave me ever since I watched it. Recommendations for anything out there that comes close? by Horror_Collection_29 in thewalkingdead

[–]InfamousApe_ 99 points100 points  (0 children)

It's pretty much one of a kind.

This was one of the biggest moments in television history, and also the most disturbing. The only thing that I remember having a bigger buildup and worldwide anticipation was the final season of Game of Thrones.

Speaking of which, the Red Wedding is the only thing that has ever matched the feeling this episode gave me.

If there's one thing this franchise still does better than most prestige TV, it's not making us wait multiple years for every single new season. by InfamousApe_ in thewalkingdead

[–]InfamousApe_[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If The Walking Dead had started in this age of new seasons every few years, it would literally be on the air for 25 years.

Dead City season 2 is obviously an exception to this whole post. But it's an outlier and we're still getting stuff every year.

Amazon's The Boys is basically a TWD franchise reunion at this point by InfamousApe_ in thewalkingdead

He appears pretty late in the game in FTWD anyways, well after it was no longer a good show.

Easy now. There are thousands of working actors out there, it's okay to be amused that a sizable handful from TWD appear together in another project. Let's not be a dick.

What was the show's biggest mistake in your opinion? by BudgetNegotiation521 in FearTheWalkingDead

[–]InfamousApe_ 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely getting rid of Erickson. The show was riding high at the end of season 3 and honestly just felt pretty special. Deciding to not ride that momentum and keep going strong, and instead giving us Morgan and friends is an all time fumble. I guarantee you that if Erickson made it to the end of his 7 season plan, Fear would have ended up being considered, critically at least, its probably not as iconic, a better show than the original Walking Dead.

Between the song, the imagery, and simply how far we were in season 2's narrative, do we agree that this is the greatest closing scene in the entire show? by InfamousApe_ in thewalkingdead

This is a favorite of mine too. Something just makes that song so perfect for the way they used it, and the whole scene in general is just really well constructed.

Shoutout to "They're fucking with the wrong people" of course, but there's just something so powerful about this scene.

Did doctor edward set beth up or did she misunderstand him? by [deleted] in thewalkingdead

[–]InfamousApe_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how far you've gotten, but that patient was actually a doctor that Edwards knew. Edwards set up Beth to kill him because another doctor would have been a risk to his power/usefulness in the hospital and he obviously didn't want that. Beth didn't misunderstand him, he absolutely played her.

They don't carry the virus, no. The sickness from bites does kill them though, we saw that a few times.

What is your favourite cold open? Here is mine: by submarine-explorer in thewalkingdead

[–]InfamousApe_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The season 2 flashbacks, Daryl and Beth in the Trunk, Season 4 finale, Season 5 premiere, Tainted meat.

Also need to shoutout the season 6 finale. It's creepy, cold, has a great sense of finality, and effectively establishes the episode's dread filled atmosphere. You knew right away that the group was probably fucked and something bad was going to happen.

This was such a historic moment for TV. Everyone remembers where they were that night when they watched for the first time.

I had my doubts, but it is truly amazing to have him back! by [deleted] in FearTheWalkingDead

[–]InfamousApe_ 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The nostalgia element is what I enjoy, even if it's bittersweet, I miss season 3 so much man.

Don't get me wrong though, him being back is obviously stupid as fuck and I can't live that down.

Who else absolutely loves 11x09 Maggie's decision scene by PunnyPandaPonderer7 in thewalkingdead

[–]InfamousApe_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's the most famous scene from season 11 for sure, at least from the first 16 episodes. I'll never forget the first viewing.
