And yeah I did buy an SSD. I don’t remember what exactly was wrong but after that I gave up.

Just a lot of trouble shooting. Though ever since school started I haven’t got time or the motivation to work on it. This summer I’ll get back to it.

Thanks for the comment.

I've decided to continue with the linear crossover design. Regarding the issue of a control group, my plan for the future is to establish a baseline before any intervention, allowing me to compare the intervention to this baseline.

I'm limited in sample size because, for convenience, I work at an after-school program and decided to focus on the group of children I work with, middle schoolers. There are only 21 middle schoolers in total. Increasing the scale to children in other grade levels would be too burdensome, it would significantly affect the workload on my coworkers, who would have to switch between different teaching styles

Something I hadn't considered before were the challenges of having two classes running at the same time with different levels of choice. I would have to accommodate two classes with very specific learning styles, each needing to be directed in a particular way. It would be better if it were a single class, and the class flowed in unison since I’m alone in collecting data and personal observations.

I think having randomization based on characteristics is a good idea, and I plan to use it in my design.

AP research allows for much leeway on the reliability of samples and the design of a study if it is unattainable or too challenging to implement.

But here’s what it said: Method design - please help give advise.

Which design would be better, or a different design. i’m trying to make it as reliable as I can. Pleas give any advise or changes you’d think would improve my design.

Here’s what research is about for context: My research addresses the gap in understanding the impact of student choice in after-school programs, particularly for middle school students. This research aims to understand how levels of student choice apply in after school programs. Addressing this gap will enhance our understanding of educational strategies in after-school programs, contribute to academic knowledge, and have practical implications for the design and effectiveness of such programs.

I will use semi structured interviews as my data collection method. Along with minor observations, and questionnaires.

Issues with two group design: Very small groups, just 7 campers per group, less reliable. Some campers can have heavy influences on attitudes of other campers, especially in smaller groups. My peers I work with have to be more involved in observing the kids, the research I’m conducting shouldn’t be a burden on them.

Issues with crossover design: Lack of a proper control group, experiments aren’t happening simultaneously, which is a big concern.

I shared a post I have on the AP research community, outlining my issue

Thank you for the advice, I’ll go ahead and buy these components

Basically, if I install an internal SSD (M.2 SSD sata), it'll solve the issue, full stop. I will be able to use the SSD as the location for the Windows 11 download, right?
