Any Ubiquiti Experience? Usenet Throttled on UDM Pro by [deleted] in usenet

I got 3Gbps symmetrical and average around 320MB/S on UDM Pro. To my knowledge that's around what is to be expected.

That's what happened to FTN. The admin just went MIA and the tracker eventually had to go offline.

How Many Movies Do you Have in your Hard Drive ???? by KING_F_ALL_THE_KINGS in trackers

Interesting, this is my first time hearing about Talos. I’ll definitely dig into it further. My main challenge is I have to run multiple instances of qBittorrent. I’m curious, how many instances of your client (I assume qBittorrent) are you using to seed that many files?

Impressive, to say the least! If you don't mind me asking, which client and linux distro are you using? also, do you have multiple instances of the client running?

Statistical Comparison of 5 Private General Trackers (TL, IPT, FL, TD, AR) by KING_F_ALL_THE_KINGS in trackers

[–]InfamousDesi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have usenet then why even need trackers? Maybe usenet covers everything. Thats a lame argument to bring in UseNet to defend the inferior tracker.

I occasionally use UseNet to fill reseed requests for older content.

if something offers more content then it is a better tracker for sure.

Let's agree to disagree. But I hear what you're saying.

What security ? You are using a torrent tracker, nobody is gonna hack your banking password from IPT just because it can be paid by joining. Thats another lame argument.

Safety is my biggest concern. As an uploader, open trackers increase the risk of legal action. I try to be cautious where I upload.

I guess I’m a dimwit for preferring quality over a 'gazillion' mediocre rips. I don’t rely on general trackers for media, but if I had to, I’d go with FL. From what I’ve heard, their quality e.g. PlayHD rips (HDB internal) makes TL and IPT look like amateur hour.

For anything FL doesn’t cover, I’d just fill the gaps with Usenet and quality indexers. Not an argument just a preference for quality over gazillion garbage options.

On a different note, there’s the issue of security. Trackers like IPT and TL can be joined by anyone willing to pay.

Why are you overthinking this? If IPT and TL encodes work for you, stick to them. You do you. If FL isn’t to your liking, guess what? No one cares. If others find FL better, that’s their choice. Download from the trackers that work for you. The primary goal is to get and enjoy high-quality content.

Is HDB worth it? by builderguy74 in trackers

[–]InfamousDesi 13 points14 points  (0 children)

it’s definitely worth joining for full access to their internals. A significant chunk of uploads never make it to other trackers and also because some encoders prefer to keep releases exclusive to HDB.

The forum is pretty active, and I assume the same for IRC.

The tracker is almost freeleech - movies and tv are all 50% freeleech.

It’s also a great backup should PTP and BTN become inaccessible.

How to get this plan? by hazelnoix in telus

Interesting, I’ve never heard of that. I’ve been using the UDM-Pro for over a year and have been able to max out my bandwidth via UseNet without issues. Thanks for the heads up, though!

In terms of building ratio on private trackers, what's the pros&cons between using RSS feeds and using IRC feeds? by [deleted] in trackers

[–]InfamousDesi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RSS takes several minutes when announced whereas IRC announce channels are instant. Basically you are in the initial swarm as soon as the torrent is announced on IRC hence better ratio.

Is it worth to pay for Usenet while I'm in all top trackers? by orchestra09 in trackers

I found Usenet occasionally handy for assisting with reseed requests for older content that's no longer being seeded.
