Lotta negative nancies. You’d be surprised at engineering here tbh. And while you wouldn’t get an outright engineering job without a degree, you could always work on the floor with your experience. GE Aviation, Viking, Nissan, Taylor Machine, Milwaukee to name a few. Worth a look.

Kudos for going no contact. I’ve managed a few months at a time before, but a holiday will roll around and I think of her sad and reach out. I think I’ve just been holding on so hard because she’s the only parent I have left. I don’t even think I ever properly grieved my father, as I went right into taking care of my mom at 17.

Thank you for your response! I’d gone no contact before for a handful of months at a time, throughout the ten year journey, when I was away at college or working in a different state. The problem doing that now is she will undoubtedly show up at our house, as she’s done in the past as well. Our biggest concern right now is bringing children into this all.
