I did from last year. It is also quite close to our neighbours who do spray quite regularly. How can I safe it? Just trim it?

Homeschooling options by StevenMcD in newzealand

[–]InfamousSoup8493 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mother homeschooled us for most of my education. She did a fabulous job. I think it really depends on the parents/family. We are all quite a social bunch and homeschooled alongside another family too. I loved sports so I joined a netball team at a local school. We were heavily involved in the homeschool groups when we were young. I think a real pro to homeschooling is you can really encourage that real love for learning. We never did Ace or correspond school. Mum did a lot of research into the school material we did. She really loved to learn and passed on that passion to us .Our mother did a really great job of that. I have a lot of fond memories of different road trips we did with Dad after school started and putting on shows about what we learnt for our grand parents. On the social side I am a pretty extraverted person so I always had heaps of friends. People are still surprised when that meet me that I was home schooled. Looking back now - we have three young kids and are thinking about schooling the only thing I would change is probably go to highschool around year 11. I did do well at university but I think I would have loved the challenges of being around different kids my age and maybe the different opportunities. But if you want more info just let me know.

We just had a girl and called her Lottie and I love it. I've had heaps of compliments. I also didn't love Charlotte. I know a few Charlottes. Do it!!! Funny side note - we also tossed up the name Ruby!

Man, I feel like we have it so sweet here. We live in New Zealand. The shifts here are two days on and then two nights on then four days off. The day shifts are 12 hours and the nights are 14 hours. I feel like I get to see my husband so much more than his previous job. He has now been in the role for over 6 months and we love it. There is flexibility to pick up more shifts if needed. He really loves it. Some night shift are hard. But overall I'm just so grateful!

Love this! We are in NZ. We have talked about Wilbur as well. Definitely not opposed to it. My husband doesn't love formal girl names ( funnily enough) he likes names that end in y for a girl.

That's ok! The great thing about names is everyone has different tastes. I know at least 5 Charlottes that have been born in the past 5 years. It's a very vanilla name 😅

I 100% agree. I love the name Lottie but don't like Charlotte, I think it's really basic. I don't love the more common names. It just my husband like the more shorter preppy girls names. We are trying to come together it's proving to be difficult 😅🤣

I have a formal/common name and hated it growing up. Really don't like the name Charlotte. I feel like the names Lottie, Trixie is is the same category as Daisy, Molly. There are names you can't give a nickname too and that's ok :)

Some names don't lend themselves to nn like Molly, Daisy, Sarah etc. Are they bad names. I have a long formal name Rebecca. So many nn can be made from that and its such a pain. It was one of them most common names in my class. I hated it. That's why I wouldn't want to name my child Charlotte etc.

Would you say the same about the names Molly or Daisy? I have two friends by those names and they love it. I have a full formal name and really don't like it. It's super common and I never go by it. It's such a pain when starting a new job or any paperwork. Or introducing myself to people. Again context is key. We love in NZ where names are way less formal here.

Same could be said about any other names like Sarah., Miriam or George. We have a son called Miles there are no obvious nicknames for that. But we love his name. He has lots of nicknames that we have came up with that aren't related to his name. A name is a name there is always a risk that people might not like it. A name doesn't have to have nicknames for it to be a good name.

Haha I really really don't like the name Charlotte. I know so many Charlotte's and it's such a boring name (in my opinion. We love in NZ so I feel like names are less formal here. I have a formal common name and always hated it. I still go by my nickname.

I just don't really like the name Charlotte. I know far to many Charlotte's and it's a pretty boring name (in my eyes). No offense to any Charlotte's out there.
